Sulphin

Sulphin acts as a Multi-Site Contact Fungicide. It is difficult for fungi to develop resistance to it because it attacks the pathogen in multiple ways.

1. Energy Blockade: The sulphur particles penetrate fungal cells and disrupt their respiration (mitochondria). This stops the fungus from producing energy (ATP), causing it to die.
2. Self-Poisoning ($H_2S$): Inside the fungus, sulphur reacts to form Hydrogen Sulfide ($H_2S$), which is toxic to the cell.
3. Fumigant Action on Mites: At appropriate temperatures, Sulphin releases sulphur vapors. These vapors enter the breathing system of mites (like Red Spider Mites), acting as a fumigant poison.

Note: Sulphin is a "Protectant." It works best when applied before the disease spreads severely.

The Golden Rule: Always follow the "Dose per Acre" for accurate results. Sulphin requires thorough coverage to be effective.

• Timing: Apply as a preventive spray (before disease is severe). For grapes, start at the 3-5 leaf stage. Avoid spraying during the hottest part of the day (mid-day).
• Mixing: Fill the tank halfway with water. Pour Sulphin granules slowly while stirring. They will disperse instantly. Fill the rest of the tank.
• Coverage: Sulphur only protects where it touches. Ensure thorough coverage of both sides of the leaf.
• Safety: Always wear PPE (gloves, mask, goggles). Wash hands thoroughly after use.
