Stunner operates differently from standard fungicides. It targets the mitochondria (the power plant) of the fungal cell to shut down energy production.

  1. Energy Blockade: Stunner inhibits the Qi site of Complex III in the mitochondria. This instantly stops the fungus from producing ATP (energy).
  2. Paralyzes Zoospores: Oomycetes spread via swimming zoospores. Stunner cuts their energy, rendering them immobile so they cannot infect new leaves or tubers.
  3. Stops Sporulation: It acts as an anti-sporulant, preventing the fungus from releasing new spores and halting the spread of the disease to neighboring plants.

Note: Because it attacks a different site than Strobilurins (which attack the Qo site), there is no cross-resistance.
