The "Start Clean" Solution for Maize and Sugarcane Farmers.

Solaro (Atrazine 50% WP) is a trusted pre-emergence and early post-emergence herbicide designed to protect your crops during the most critical 30-45 days of growth. By creating a chemical barrier in the soil, Solaro stops broadleaf and grassy weeds before they can compete with your crop for sunlight and nutrients. Manufactured by PI Industries, it offers superior formulation quality ensuring better suspension and uniform coverage compared to standard generics.

Best For: Farmers looking for an affordable, reliable, and broad-spectrum weed control solution for Maize (Corn) and Sugarcane.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Solaro works by disrupting the energy production of the weed. It is a systemic herbicide that is primarily absorbed through the roots.

  1. Absorption: The herbicide is applied to the soil. As weeds germinate, their roots absorb the chemical along with water.
  2. Translocation: It travels up the plant (via xylem) to the leaves and chloroplasts.
  3. Inhibition: It blocks Photosystem II, preventing the weed from converting sunlight into energy. This leads to starvation, yellowing (chlorosis), and death of the weed.

Note: Maize and Sugarcane have natural enzymes that break down Atrazine rapidly, which is why the crop survives while the weed dies.

How to applyDosage & Application Guide

The Golden Rule: Always follow the "Dose per Acre" for accurate results. Ensure soil has sufficient moisture at the time of application.

How to applyDosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
CropDose (g / Acre)Water (L / Acre)Dose (g / Litre)PHI (Days)
Maize (Light Soil)400 g200 L2 g/L--
Maize (Heavy Soil)800 g200 L4 g/L--

*PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: Use as per statutory guidelines. *Dose varies by soil type (Heavy clay soils need higher doses than sandy soils).

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Timing: Pre-Emergence: Apply immediately after sowing (0-3 days). Early Post-Emergence: Can be applied up to the 2-leaf stage of weeds.
  • Mixing: This is a Wettable Powder (WP). Pre-mix the required quantity in a bucket with a little water to form a thin paste, then pour into the spray tank and fill with water. Keep agitated.
  • Coverage: Use a flat fan or flood jet nozzle. Ensure the soil is moist at the time of application for the chemical to activate.
  • Safety: Always wear PPE (gloves, mask, goggles) as the powder can cause dust inhalation. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
