Sharp works by attacking the Central Nervous System of the insect. It is an agonist of the Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor (nAChR).

1. Systemic Absorption: When sprayed, the active ingredient is quickly absorbed by the plant tissues and moves throughout the plant system.
2. Nervous System Attack: When the pest sucks the plant sap or touches the chemical, Acetamiprid binds to the nerve receptors in the insect's brain.
3. Paralysis & Control: This binding causes hyper-excitation (jitters), followed by paralysis and death of the pest. It works effectively on eggs, nymphs, and adults.

Note: Its unique structure makes it effective even against pests that have developed resistance to older chemicals like Organophosphates.
