Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Satsuma M-45 is a broad-spectrum contact fungicide. It does not enter the plant but stays on the leaf surface to form a chemical barrier.

  1. Contact Poison: When fungal spores land on the leaf and try to germinate, they absorb the Mancozeb particles.
  2. Metabolic Disruption: The active ingredient targets the amino acids and enzymes within the fungus, stopping its respiration and energy production.
  3. Multi-Site Attack: It attacks the fungus at multiple points simultaneously (respiration, cell membrane, etc.), making it nearly impossible for the fungus to survive or mutate.

Note: Because it is a contact fungicide, it must be applied before the disease enters the plant tissue.

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Timing: Apply prophylactically (before disease symptoms appear). Start sprays immediately upon "Blight Warnings" or when weather becomes cloudy/humid.
  • Mixing: Do not mix with alkaline products like Bordeaux Mixture or Lime Sulphur. Add a "Sticker" during rainy season to prevent wash-off.
  • Coverage: Use high water volume (minimum 300L/acre for field crops). Ensure both upper and lower sides of leaves are coated.
  • Safety: Always wear PPE (gloves, mask, goggles). Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not inhale the dust.
