HPM Safety Product Overview

HPM Safety is a broad-spectrum contact and protective fungicide containing Mancozeb 35% SC. HPM's current product page lists it for early and late blight in potato and tomato.

Mancozeb belongs to the dithiocarbamate fungicides and is classified in FRAC Group M03. It acts at multiple biochemical sites on the treated plant surface. This makes it useful as a protective fungicide, but it does not replace correct disease identification, timely spraying or complete coverage.

Available packs on Mana Agri Mart: 500 ml and 1 litre.

Use with careWhy Choose HPM Safety? Key Benefits
  • Verified product identity: HPM identifies Safety as Mancozeb 35% SC, not an insecticide.
  • Protective contact action: It remains on treated plant surfaces and should be positioned according to disease risk and the current label.
  • Multi-site mode of action: FRAC classifies Mancozeb in Group M03, the multi-site dithiocarbamate fungicides.
  • Specific crop scope: HPM lists early and late blight in potato and tomato.
  • Liquid SC formulation: The suspension-concentrate formulation must be measured, diluted and agitated exactly as directed on the current pack.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Mancozeb has multi-site contact activity. On the treated plant surface, it interferes with several enzyme systems and essential fungal processes rather than acting at one narrowly defined target site.

  1. Protective deposit: The correctly diluted spray forms a protective deposit on covered plant surfaces.
  2. Multi-site interference: Mancozeb disrupts several fungal biochemical processes associated with spore germination and infection.
  3. Disease prevention: Timely, uniform coverage helps protect susceptible plant tissue when used for the label-listed crop and disease.

FRAC generally considers multi-site fungicides a low resistance-risk group, but all applications must still remain within the current label and a sound disease-management programme.

Important: HPM's online water-volume column and current PPQS IPM-package guidance do not match. No universal ml-per-litre, tank or pump conversion is therefore provided here. The current physical product label and authorised local guidance control the final application.

How to applyApplication Guidance
  • Diagnosis: Confirm early or late blight and the registered crop before selecting the product.
  • Timing: A protective contact fungicide should be applied at the label-directed preventive or early-disease timing; do not wait for severe infection.
  • Mixing: Shake the SC container if the label directs, measure accurately, premix with a small quantity of clean water and add the remaining label-specified water under agitation.
  • Coverage: Use suitable spray equipment and achieve uniform coverage of susceptible foliage without runoff.
  • Weather: Avoid rain, strong wind, excessive heat and drift to neighbouring crops, people, animals or water.
  • Programme use: If another fungicide is required, select a separately applied product whose own Indian label covers the crop and disease. Recommendation cards are not tank-mix instructions.
Use with careSafety and Storage
  • Read the complete current label and leaflet before handling, mixing or spraying.
  • Wear the personal protective equipment specified on the pack and avoid skin, eye and inhalation exposure.
  • Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling the product. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
  • Store only in the original tightly closed container in a secure, dry, ventilated place away from children, animals, food, feed and direct heat.
  • Prevent product, spray, runoff and wash water from entering drains, ponds, streams or aquaculture. Never reuse the empty container.
  • If exposure or illness occurs, seek medical help promptly and take the product container or label. Follow the pack's first-aid directions.
