Dimethoate inhibits acetylcholinesterase in susceptible pests, disrupting normal nerve transmission. Its systemic, contact and stomach activity helps manage pests feeding on treated plants. Because repeated applications of Group 1B insecticides can select resistant populations, do not rely on Rogohit for every spray. Rotate with a suitable, label-approved insecticide from a different IRAC group and integrate non-chemical pest-management practices.

The table reproduces selected recommendations on HPM’s Rogohit page. Always prioritise the current pack label. Do not use dimethoate on fruits or vegetables intended to be consumed raw, in accordance with the Government of India restriction.

• Identify the crop and pest accurately before spraying and use only the corresponding label rate.
• Measure the concentrate with dedicated equipment; never use household utensils.
• Part-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the measured product, agitate and top up to the required volume.
• Apply with calibrated equipment for uniform coverage and avoid drift, runoff and contamination of water bodies.
• Wear the PPE stated on the label. Avoid inhalation, skin contact, eating, drinking or smoking during handling.
• Do not enter the treated area until the label re-entry period has elapsed. Keep people and animals away during application.
• Observe the Government of India prohibition on dimethoate use in fruits and vegetables consumed raw.
