HPM Robocop Fungicide Overview

HPM Robocop is a systemic foliar fungicide containing Propiconazole 13.9% w/w + Difenoconazole 13.9% w/w EC. HPM recommends it for the management of sheath blight and dirty panicle (grain discolouration) in paddy.

Both active ingredients are triazole demethylation inhibitors classified in FRAC Group 3. They are absorbed by foliage and move acropetally, with protective and curative activity when Robocop is used at the registered timing. Because both ingredients share the same FRAC group, the mixture should be treated as one mode-of-action group for resistance planning.

Available packs on Mana Agri Mart: 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1 litre.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose HPM Robocop?
  • Verified paddy use: The registered crop scope is paddy/rice.
  • Two systemic triazoles: Propiconazole and Difenoconazole provide foliar uptake with protective and curative action.
  • Specific disease scope: HPM lists sheath blight and dirty panicle (grain discolouration).
  • EC formulation: The emulsifiable concentrate is diluted in water for label-directed foliar spraying.
  • Clear resistance classification: Both actives belong to FRAC Group 3, so rotation should use a separately applied, label-approved fungicide from a different group.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Propiconazole and Difenoconazole inhibit sterol demethylation in fungi. This disrupts ergosterol biosynthesis, an essential process for normal fungal cell-membrane development.

  1. Foliar absorption: The actives are absorbed through treated leaves.
  2. Systemic movement: They move acropetally in the xylem; Difenoconazole also has strong translaminar movement.
  3. Growth inhibition: Interference with fungal sterol biosynthesis checks the development and spread of susceptible disease.

Resistance note: Propiconazole and Difenoconazole are both FRAC Group 3 DMIs. Do not count this as a Group 3 + different-group mixture. Follow the label limits and use separately applied, registered alternatives from different FRAC groups where an authorised disease-management programme requires rotation.

The current physical product label and leaflet control the final rate, timing, frequency, spray volume, re-entry, waiting period and safety directions. Do not use on unlisted crops or diseases.

How to applyApplication Best Practices
  • Identify the disease: Confirm sheath blight or dirty panicle in paddy before selecting Robocop.
  • Use the label timing: HPM discusses early crop protection around 25–30 days after transplanting, but disease pressure and the current pack directions determine the actual timing.
  • Measure accurately: Use calibrated equipment and prepare only the spray volume required for the treated area.
  • Mix correctly: Add the measured EC product to clean water as instructed on the label and maintain uniform mixing.
  • Cover the crop uniformly: Use suitable spray equipment and avoid runoff, drift and contamination of water bodies.
  • Do not infer tank mixes: Recommended product cards are alternatives for programme planning, not instructions to mix products in one tank.
Use with careSafety and Storage
  • Read and follow the complete current product label and leaflet before handling or application.
  • Wear the personal protective equipment specified on the pack and avoid skin, eye and inhalation exposure.
  • Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew during handling. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
  • Keep the product in its original labelled container, tightly closed, away from food, feed, children, animals, heat and direct sunlight.
  • Prevent spray, concentrate and rinsate from entering ponds, drains and other water bodies. Dispose of containers according to the label and local rules.
  • In case of exposure or poisoning, obtain medical help promptly and take the product label or container.
