HPM Rise Insecticide & Acaricide Overview

HPM Rise is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide containing Diafenthiuron 50% WP. HPM lists it for selected sucking pests, diamondback moth and mites on specific crops.

Diafenthiuron is a pro-insecticide in IRAC Group 12A. After conversion to its active form, it inhibits mitochondrial ATP synthase, interrupting cellular energy production in susceptible pests. HPM describes contact and stomach activity against larvae, nymphs and adults, with some ovicidal activity.

Available packs on Mana Agri Mart: 25 g, 250 g and 500 g.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose HPM Rise?
  • Verified product identity: HPM Rise is Diafenthiuron 50% WP insecticide/acaricide, not a plant-growth promoter.
  • Insect and mite activity: HPM lists sucking insects, diamondback moth and mites within crop-specific recommendations.
  • Multiple life stages: HPM describes activity against larvae, nymphs and adults, with some ovicidal activity.
  • Lower-leaf reach: HPM states that Rise helps control pests on the lower leaf surface when adequate spray coverage is achieved.
  • Resistance classification: IRAC Group 12A makes the mode of action clear for label-compliant rotation planning.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Diafenthiuron must first be converted to an active carbodiimide form. The active metabolite then acts on the pest's mitochondrial energy system.

  1. Contact or ingestion: Susceptible larvae, nymphs or adults contact or ingest the spray deposit.
  2. Active-form conversion: Diafenthiuron is converted to the active form required for insecticidal action.
  3. Energy interruption: Inhibition of mitochondrial ATP synthase reduces cellular energy production, leading to paralysis and death over the label-described period.

Resistance note: Do not repeatedly rely on Group 12A. Follow the current label limits and rotate only with separately applied products whose own Indian labels cover the crop and target and whose IRAC groups are appropriate.

The current physical Rise label and leaflet control the final rate, spray volume, timing, frequency, waiting period, re-entry and safety directions. Do not extrapolate these directions to other crops, pests or tank sizes.

How to applyApplication Best Practices
  • Identify the pest: Confirm the crop and target are listed on the current Rise label before opening the pack.
  • Use threshold-based timing: Apply only when monitoring and authorised local guidance indicate treatment is required.
  • Mix a WP correctly: Follow the pack directions for any inner water-soluble pouch, premixing, tank filling and agitation. Do not handle or open a water-soluble pouch unless the label instructs it.
  • Coverage: Use calibrated equipment and the label water volume to cover target foliage, including lower leaf surfaces, without runoff.
  • Weather and drift: Avoid rain, strong wind, excessive heat and spray drift. Protect nearby people, animals, flowering plants and water bodies.
  • No inferred mixtures: Do not tank-mix on the basis of online advice or recommendation cards. Mix only when the current labels and authorised guidance explicitly permit it.
Use with careSafety and Storage
  • Read the complete current label and leaflet before handling, mixing or spraying.
  • Wear the personal protective equipment specified on the pack and avoid skin, eye and inhalation exposure.
  • Diafenthiuron is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Prevent concentrate, spray and rinsate from reaching ponds, drains, streams or aquaculture.
  • HPM states that Diafenthiuron is toxic to bees. Do not expose bees or other pollinators; follow all flowering-crop and spray-timing restrictions on the label.
  • Store in the original labelled container, tightly closed, away from food, feed, children, animals, heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
  • In case of exposure or poisoning, seek medical help promptly and take the product label or container. No specific antidote should be assumed.
