How It Works: Mode of Action
-
Enzyme inhibition: Thifluzamide blocks an enzyme involved in fungal respiration, the process fungi use to produce energy.
-
Energy supply disrupted: Blocking this step interrupts the energy-producing process in susceptible fungal cells.
-
Fungal growth restricted: The resulting disruption restricts the growth of susceptible fungi.
Thifluzamide is FRAC Group 7. Use resistance-management measures
and do not repeatedly rely on products with the same mode of action.

Use Reflio only for the rice sheath-blight use permitted on its
supplied Indian pack. Do not transfer these directions to tomato, potato or another crop.
Dosage & Application Guide
Confirm the supplied current Indian pack’s rice sheath-blight directions and exact harvest interval before
treatment. The separate amounts and timing below do not form a ready-to-apply programme while that interval remains
unresolved.
Rice amount and harvest safeguards
Product and spray water: The rice leaflet amount is 375 ml product/ha with 500 L water/ha, approximately
151.8 ml product and 202.3 L water per acre. Measure by treated area; these are not a per-litre or pump recipe.
Harvest restriction: Obtain the current pack’s exact final-treatment-to-harvest interval before
application. Do not select either the 26-day or 28-day reference without confirmation. A pre-harvest interval is the minimum time from
the final treatment to harvest; it is different from worker re-entry and repeat-treatment intervals. A missing interval does not mean
zero.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Timing: For preventive rice treatment, the stated timing is 30–50 days after transplanting, with a second treatment after 15–20
days. Confirm that the supplied current pack permits this schedule and its treatment limits, and resolve the harvest interval before any
application.
-
Mixing: Premix the measured product in a small amount of water, then add the remaining water with thorough agitation.
-
Equipment: The Indian leaflet specifies a knapsack or high-volume sprayer.
-
Crop limits: Do not transfer this rice programme to tomato, potato or other crops.
-
Handling: Avoid inhalation and contact with skin or eyes. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling.
Use any proposed mixture only when both current labels permit it for rice and the intended treatment. Follow
the pack’s weather precautions and do not assume a fixed rainfast interval. Prevent drift to non-target areas. Record the crop, field,
treatment date and amount.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Reflio used for?
Control of sheath blight in rice caused by Rhizoctonia solani.
Is it only a contact fungicide?
No. The Indian leaflet describes Reflio as systemic, with preventive and curative activity.
What dose does the leaflet give?
375 ml product per hectare in 500 L water per hectare, approximately 151.8 ml and 202.3 L per acre. The
harvest interval still needs resolution before use.
Is the harvest interval 26 or 28 days?
Obtain the exact interval from the supplied current Indian pack before application. Do not assume that
either 26 or 28 days applies without clarification.
Can the rice directions be used on potato?
No. These directions are for rice sheath blight. Do not use them as a potato programme or substitute another
brand’s directions.
