HPM Pymetro Plus is a systemic insecticide containing Pymetrozine 50% WG. Its approved Indian label use is for the management of brown planthopper (BPH) in paddy.

Pymetrozine belongs to IRAC Group 9B, the pyridine azomethine derivatives. It acts on chordotonal organ TRPV channels and disrupts the pest's feeding behaviour. Feeding stops after exposure, helping protect the crop from continued hopper damage. Use Pymetro Plus as one part of an integrated pest-management programme and rotate with insecticides from a different IRAC group when another treatment is required.

Pymetrozine is classified by IRAC as a Group 9B chordotonal organ TRPV channel modulator. After exposure, susceptible hoppers stop feeding. This reduces continued sap removal and helps limit additional plant damage. Because repeated use of one mode of action can select resistant pest populations, follow the label and rotate with a suitable registered insecticide from a different IRAC group.

  • Monitor paddy regularly and apply when brown planthopper reaches the action threshold specified in local guidance.
  • Measure the label dose accurately. First make a slurry with a small quantity of clean water, then add it to the spray tank and maintain agitation.
  • Direct the spray towards the lower crop canopy and the base of rice plants, where planthoppers usually remain.
  • Use calibrated equipment and the label-specified water volume for uniform coverage.
  • Do not mix with another input unless compatibility and label directions permit it.
