Proclaim works by targeting the nervous system of the insect. It is a contact and stomach poison with a unique mechanism.

  1. Locking the Nerves: Upon ingestion, the active ingredient binds to specific channels in the insect's nerves, locking them open.
  2. Paralysis: This causes a flow of chloride ions that paralyzes the insect's muscles.
  3. Starvation: The larva becomes paralyzed and stops feeding irreversibly. Even if it looks alive, it cannot damage the crop and dies within 2–4 days.

Note: Proclaim penetrates the leaf (translaminar) and stays there, killing pests that feed on the underside or inside the leaf tissue.
