Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Propiconazole is a demethylation inhibitor (DMI). It interferes with C14-demethylation in sterol biosynthesis, affecting ergosterol production required by susceptible fungi. After foliar application, it is absorbed and moves upward through the xylem.

  1. Absorption: Applied spray is taken up by treated plant surfaces.
  2. Systemic movement: The active ingredient moves acropetally in the plant.
  3. Fungal growth inhibition: Sterol biosynthesis is disrupted in susceptible label-listed pathogens.

Repeated use of the same mode-of-action group can select resistant populations. Follow the current label and rotate with effective fungicides from different FRAC groups where an approved local programme permits.

How to applyDosage & Application Guide

Use the crop-specific per-acre dose with the stated spray-water volume. The figures below reproduce the HPM product guidance for the retained crop-and-disease uses. The current pack label always takes precedence.

CropDose per AcreWater per AcrePHI / Waiting Period
Wheat200 ml300 litres30 days
Rice200 ml300 litres30 days

PHI means pre-harvest interval. No per-litre rate has been derived from these per-area directions; use calibrated equipment and the complete crop-specific water volume.

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Confirm the diagnosis: Use only for the exact crop and fungal disease permitted by the current label.
  • Calibrate equipment: Measure the stated per-acre quantity and spray-water volume accurately.
  • Timing and frequency: Follow label directions and local agricultural advice; do not invent or transfer a schedule from another crop.
  • Resistance management: Avoid repeated exclusive use of FRAC Group 3 and rotate only within an approved programme.
  • Compatibility: Do not assume tank-mix compatibility. Mix only when the current label or qualified local advice explicitly permits it.
  • Safety: Wear label-required PPE, avoid spray drift and keep people and animals away from the treated area as directed.
  • Storage: Keep in the original sealed container in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from food, feed, children and animals.
