SWAL Panama Insecticide (Flonicamid 50% WG)

The "Feeding Blocker" that Starves Resistant Pests like BPH, Aphids & Whiteflies.

Panama is a technologically advanced systemic insecticide designed to break the resistance cycle in sucking pests. Unlike older poisons that attack the nerves directly, Panama targets the pest's ability to feed. Within 30 minutes of spraying, pests stop sucking plant sap and eventually die of starvation. It is highly safe for pollinators (bees) and comes in a dust-free Granule (WG) formulation.

Best For: Cotton (Whitefly/Jassids), Paddy (Brown Plant Hopper), and Vegetables.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose This Product? Key Benefits
  • ? Stops Damage in 30 Mins: The "Feeding Cessation" effect is immediate. Pests may look alive for a few days, but they cannot eat or damage your crop.
  • ?️ 2-Hour Rainfastness: Rapidly absorbed by the leaf. If it rains just 2 hours after spraying, you do not need to respray.
  • ? Pollinator Friendly: Safe for Honeybees and beneficial insects. Can be used during the flowering stage without harming the ecosystem.
  • ? Resistance Breaker: Effective against pests that have developed resistance to Imidacloprid and other common chemicals.
  • ? Systemic Protection: Moves upwards in the plant (Acropetal), protecting new leaves that grow after the spray.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Panama works differently from typical nerve poisons. It induces "Anorexia" (starvation) in pests.

  1. Contact & Withdrawal: Upon contact or ingestion, the chemical disrupts the pest's sensory organs. Within 30 minutes, the pest retracts its feeding tube (stylet).
  2. Starvation: The pest remains on the leaf but enters a "zombie-like" state. It cannot pierce the plant tissue or drink sap.
  3. Death: Deprived of food and water, the pest dehydrates and dies within 2-4 days.

Because it stops feeding immediately, it also stops the spread of viral diseases transmitted by these pests.

How to applyDosage & Application Guide

The Golden Rule: Use the 150g Pack for approximately 2 acres. Accurate dosing is key to resistance management.

How to applyDosage per Acre, Pump, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
CropDose (g / Acre)Water (L / Acre)Dose (g / 15L Pump)PHI (Days)
Cotton60 - 80 g150 - 200 L8 - 10 g14 Days
Paddy (BPH)60 - 80 g150 - 200 L8 - 10 g21-30 Days
Vegetables60 - 80 g150 L8 g5 - 7 Days

*PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: The minimum number of days to wait between the last spray and harvesting.

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Nozzle Selection: Always use a Hollow Cone Nozzle. This creates a fine mist that penetrates the canopy to reach the undersides of leaves where aphids hide.
  • Mixing: Dissolve the granules in a small mug of water first to create a slurry, then add to the main tank. Do not use muddy water.
  • Targeting BPH: For Paddy, direct the spray towards the base of the plant (stem) where the hoppers reside.
  • Avoid Heat: Spray in the early morning or late evening. Avoid spraying when temperatures exceed 35°C.
