Metarhizium Anisopliae: Biological Termite & Root Grub Killer (Green Muscardine Fungus)

The ultimate biological solution for soil pests, termites, and sucking insects without chemical residues.

Metarhizium anisopliae is a powerful bio-insecticide known as the "Green Muscardine Fungus." Unlike chemical sprays that insects develop resistance to, this fungus acts like a parasite. It attaches to the insect's body, penetrates its skin, and destroys it from the inside out.

Best For: Controlling hidden soil pests like Root Grubs (in Sugarcane/Groundnut), Termites, and resistant surface pests like Black Thrips (in Chilli) and Brown Plant Hoppers (in Paddy).

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose This Product? Key Benefits
  • ? Kills Hidden Pests: Excellent against pests that hide in the soil (Grubs/Termites) where chemical sprays cannot reach effectively.
  • ?️ No Resistance Issues: Insects cannot build immunity to this fungus, making it perfect for resistant pests like the Black Thrips in Telangana.
  • Long-Lasting Protection: Once established in the soil (especially via Manure Enrichment), the fungus continues to multiply and protect your crop for months.
  • ? Eco-Friendly & Safe: Harmless to earthworms, honeybees, and pets. Ideal for organic farming and export-quality produce.
  • ? Plant Growth Booster: Beyond killing pests, it helps in root development and makes Zinc in the soil available to the plant.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action

Unlike chemical poisons that insects eat, Metarhizium kills by contact and infection.

  1. Adhesion (The Stick): The fungal spores attach to the insect's skin (cuticle) upon contact.
  2. Penetration (The Breach): The spore germinates and drills a tube into the insect's body using enzymes, bypassing the insect's armor.
  3. Colonization (The End): Once inside, the fungus multiplies rapidly, releasing toxins (Destruxins) that paralyze and kill the insect within 3-10 days. The dead insect often turns green as the fungus produces new spores to spread to other pests.

Result: A self-spreading biological weapon against pests.

How to applyDosage & Application Guide

The Golden Rule: Metarhizium is a living organism. Protect it from strong sunlight (UV) and chemicals.

Useful detailsBest Method: The "Manure Enrichment" (For Soil Pests)

For Root Grubs and Termites, simply spraying on soil is not enough. You must multiply the fungus first.

[Image of farm yard manure enrichment process]

  • Step 1: Take 200kg - 500kg of Farm Yard Manure (FYM).
  • Step 2: Mix 2 Liters (or 4kg) of Metarhizium into it. Adding Neem cake helps too.
  • Step 3: Spray water to keep it moist (not soaking) and cover with a tarp/gunny bag.
  • Step 4: Let it sit for 15 days (mix once in between). The fungus will grow through the manure.
  • Step 5: Broadcast this enriched manure over 1 acre of land before sowing or earthing up.

*Note: Adding a sticker/spreader is crucial for spraying on waxy leaves.

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Timing: Sunlight (UV rays) kills the fungus. Always spray in the late evening (dusk) so the fungus has the whole night to germinate in high humidity.
  • Compatibility: NEVER mix with chemical fungicides (like Carbendazim or Copper). Leave a 10-15 day gap.
  • Synergy: Mixing with Humic Acid (like Multiplex Jivayush) acts as a sunblock for the fungus and boosts its growth.
  • Coverage: For Thrips, ensure you spray the underside of leaves. For BPH, direct the nozzle to the base of the plant.
Use with careSafety & Disclaimer

Always read and follow the instructions on the official product label. Do not use chemical fungicides 7 days before or after applying this product. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
