HPM Hunter GR contains Butachlor 5% GR. It is a granular, selective pre-emergence herbicide registered for one broadcast application in transplanted paddy within four days after transplanting. It is intended for the grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds listed on the current Indian label.

Hunter GR is a herbicide—not an insecticide. This 5% granular formulation is also different from HPM Hunter 50% EC liquid, so their dose, equipment, and handling instructions must never be interchanged.

Butachlor is absorbed mainly by germinating weed shoots and secondarily by roots. It is classified in HRAC/WSSA Group 15, which inhibits very-long-chain fatty-acid synthesis. This disrupts early seedling growth so susceptible label-listed weeds fail to establish. Apply only during the verified pre-emergence window; it is not a substitute for a post-emergence treatment.
