Hakama works by inhibiting the ACCase enzyme, which is vital for lipid synthesis in grasses. Here is the step-by-step process:

1. Absorption: Upon spraying, the active ingredient is rapidly absorbed by the weed leaves and de-esterified into acid form.
2. Translocation: It travels through the plant system (phloem) down to the roots and growing points (meristems).
3. Termination: It destroys the growing tissues. The weed turns purple/red, develops a "dead heart" (central leaf comes out easily), and dies completely in 14-21 days.

Note: While the weed may look green for a few days, it stops consuming water and nutrients immediately after application.

The Golden Rule: Always follow the "Dose per Acre" for accurate results. Do not cut corners on water volume.

*PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: The minimum number of days to wait between the last spray and harvesting. Use 500-600ml/acre for perennial weeds like Doob grass.
