FMC Eltra Rice Insecticide Overview

FMC Eltra contains Pymetrozine 50% WG. It is a specialised systemic and translaminar feeding-blocker registered in India for brown planthopper in rice.

Use note: Rice brown planthopper only. Apply 300 g/ha in 500 L water/ha beginning at the label treatment threshold. Maximum two sprays; observe the 19-day PHI.

Pymetrozine disrupts chordotonal sensory function in susceptible planthoppers. Feeding stops rapidly even though insect mortality may take longer to become visible. This protects rice from continued sap removal while control develops.

How to applyApplication Guide
  • Monitor the lower rice canopy and begin spraying when the label economic threshold is reached.
  • Premix the measured granules, add to the partly filled tank and top up to 500 L/ha with agitation.
  • Cover the lower stems and canopy uniformly where brown planthoppers are feeding.
  • Do not exceed two sprays and observe the 19-day PHI.

  • Restrict use to rice brown planthopper; do not add pomegranate or other crops.
  • Wear label-specified protective equipment and avoid spray contact or inhalation.
  • Keep spray, runoff and wash water away from waterways and aquaculture.
  • Rotate with an effective insecticide from another IRAC group and follow the current pack.
