Cartap blocks the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor channel in the insect nervous system. HPM describes it as a systemic insecticide with contact and stomach activity; affected insects stop feeding before dying. Do not assume that a Group 14 product will control pests or resistance situations beyond the current label.

  1. Confirm rice stem borer or leaf folder and measure the treatment area.
  2. Measure the labelled formulation dose accurately.
  3. Prepare the spray mixture in the sequence specified on the current pack and use calibrated label-approved equipment.
  4. Apply uniformly within the registered water-volume range; do not replace it with an unverified drone, ultra-low-volume or fixed g/L direction.
  5. Observe the 21-day interval between the last spray and rice harvest.
  6. Rotate with an effective, label-approved product from a different IRAC group when resistance-management guidance calls for it.
