Dhanuka Decide Etofenprox 6% + Diafenthiuron 25% WG Insecticide

Decide is a combination insecticide from Dhanuka containing Etofenprox 6% + Diafenthiuron 25% WG. Dhanuka lists it for the management of thrips, mite and whitefly in chilli.

The two active ingredients have complementary actions. Etofenprox is an IRAC Group 3A sodium-channel modulator, while Diafenthiuron is an IRAC Group 12A inhibitor of mitochondrial ATP synthase. Dhanuka describes contact and stomach activity, translaminar action, rapid knockdown and longer-duration control when Decide is used according to its current label.

Important: The official web page gives a chilli dose of 500 g per acre but does not state water volume or pre-harvest interval. Do not calculate a per-litre rate from this figure. Follow the current physical pack and leaflet for water volume, timing, application frequency, waiting period and all precautions.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Decide? Key Benefits
  • Dual mode of action: Combines IRAC Groups 3A and 12A in one WG formulation.
  • Three chilli targets: The manufacturer lists thrips, mite and whitefly on chilli.
  • Contact and stomach activity: Susceptible pests are exposed through contact with treated surfaces or feeding.
  • Translaminar action: The manufacturer reports movement through treated leaf tissue, supporting coverage of pests on leaf surfaces.
  • IPM positioning: Dhanuka describes Decide as suitable for an integrated pest-management programme when it is used responsibly and only when treatment is justified.

Product scienceHow It Works: Mode of Action
  1. Etofenprox - IRAC Group 3A: Modulates insect sodium channels and disrupts normal nerve transmission.
  2. Diafenthiuron - IRAC Group 12A: Inhibits mitochondrial ATP synthase and interferes with cellular energy production.
  3. Combined exposure: Dhanuka describes contact and stomach action with a rapid knockdown effect and longer-duration control.

Because Decide contains two mode-of-action groups, do not repeatedly rely on it or on either Group 3A or Group 12A chemistry as the only control method. If another insecticide treatment is justified, select a separately applied different-group product whose own current label covers chilli and the identified pest.

How to applyDosage and Application Guide

The golden rule: Follow the current physical pack and leaflet. Use the per-acre rate only for the label-listed chilli targets and never convert it to a per-litre dose without the label-specified spray-water volume.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. No water-volume or PHI value is inferred from the manufacturer web page.

Useful detailsHow to Apply: Best Practices
  • Identify the pest: Confirm thrips, mite or whitefly in chilli before deciding whether treatment is necessary.
  • Read the pack: Check the current label for crop stage, spray-water volume, timing, frequency and waiting period.
  • Measure accurately: Use calibrated weighing and spraying equipment; do not estimate this gram-rate formulation.
  • Coverage: Direct spray according to the pack so treated chilli foliage receives even coverage, including areas where sucking pests are present.
  • Resistance stewardship: Combine monitoring, cultural controls and conservation of beneficial organisms with label-directed insecticide use.
  • Safety: Wear all personal protective equipment stated on the label and prevent drift, water contamination and access by children or animals.

Use with careSafety and Disclaimer

Always read and follow the current Decide pack and leaflet before purchase or use. The physical label is the final authority for approved crop, pests, dose, water volume, timing, application frequency, PHI, protective equipment, first aid, storage and disposal. Keep away from children, food, feed and water bodies. Recommendations on this page are standalone product-discovery options, not mixing or automatic spray-sequence instructions.
