HPM Dhadak Insect Growth Regulator: Product Overview

HPM Dhadak contains Pyriproxyfen 10% in an EC formulation. It is an insect growth regulator classified in IRAC Group 7C. HPM lists Dhadak for whitefly in cotton and for whiteflies and aphids in chilli.

Pyriproxyfen mimics juvenile hormone in susceptible insects. It primarily interferes with eggs and immature stages, suppressing embryonic development, metamorphosis and successful reproduction. It should not be described as a fast adult knockdown product. Apply at the label-directed early infestation stage, before the pest population reaches the economic threshold level (ETL).

The product page uses the exact HPM crop-specific directions. It does not expand Dhadak to household pests, unlisted crops or unrelated insects merely because pyriproxyfen has uses elsewhere. The physical pack remains the final authority for the approved crop, pest, timing, equipment, re-entry, personal protection, first aid and disposal.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose HPM Dhadak?
  • Verified crop and pest focus: HPM lists cotton whitefly and chilli whiteflies or aphids.
  • Developmental control: Pyriproxyfen targets egg development and immature-stage maturation, helping interrupt the pest life cycle.
  • Reproduction suppression: Its juvenile-hormone activity can reduce successful emergence and reproduction in susceptible populations.
  • Clear resistance classification: IRAC Group 7C helps advisers plan label-compliant alternation with separately applied products from suitable different groups.
  • Practical store packs: Mana Agri Mart lists 250 ml, 500 ml and 1 L variants.

Product scienceHow Pyriproxyfen Group 7C Works
  1. Juvenile-hormone signalling: Pyriproxyfen acts as a juvenile-hormone receptor modulator in susceptible insects.
  2. Egg and immature-stage effects: It can suppress embryonic development and prevent normal maturation of immature stages.
  3. Population effect: Disrupted metamorphosis and reproduction can reduce successful emergence of the next generation.

Because this is an insect growth regulator, evaluation should focus on the labelled pest stages and population development rather than expecting the rapid adult mortality associated with some neurotoxic insecticides.

Resistance note: Avoid treating successive pest generations repeatedly with IRAC Group 7C. Use monitoring, cultural and biological controls where practical, and rotate only with separately applied products whose own current Indian labels cover the crop, pest and application window. Recommendation cards are not automatic spray sequences.

HPM publishes these values per acre. Do not convert them into a universal tank, pump or per-litre dose. The current physical Dhadak label controls the final application directions.

How to applyApplication Guidance
  • Scout the crop and confirm the target pest and life stage before deciding whether treatment is justified.
  • HPM advises application when the pest population begins to appear but before it reaches ETL.
  • HPM publishes 2–3 sprays at 7–14 day intervals according to infestation, with no more than three sprays in a season. The physical label and local authorised guidance take precedence.
  • Use calibrated equipment and the label water volume to cover the pest habitat, including the undersides of leaves where whitefly eggs and nymphs occur, without runoff.
  • Apply only in clear, calm conditions without rain or strong wind. Prevent drift to people, animals, adjacent crops and water bodies.
  • No universal tank-mix or compatibility recommendation is made. Apply any separately selected alternative only under its own current label.
Use with careSafety and Disclaimer
  • Read the current physical label and leaflet before opening the pack. Wear every item of PPE specified there and avoid skin, eye and inhalation exposure.
  • HPM identifies Pyriproxyfen as toxic to fish, aquatic animals and algae. Keep concentrate, spray, rinsate and containers away from ponds, drains, streams and aquaculture.
  • Store in the original labelled container away from children, animals, food and feed. Follow the label for spill response, first aid and container disposal.

The current Indian Dhadak label and authorised local agricultural advice are the final authority for crops, pests, dose, water volume, timing, frequency, re-entry, PPE, first aid, storage, disposal and waiting period.
