HPM Devsena Thiamethoxam 75% SG Systemic Insecticide

HPM Devsena is a soluble-granule systemic insecticide containing Thiamethoxam 75% w/w SG. HPM lists it for specific soil and rice-sand applications against label-listed pests in groundnut, sugarcane, rice and cotton.

Thiamethoxam belongs to the neonicotinoid class and is classified in IRAC Group 4A. It acts through contact, stomach and systemic activity on susceptible insects. Use Devsena only for the crop, pest, dose, method and waiting period stated on the current physical label.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose HPM Devsena?
  • Verified formulation: Thiamethoxam 75% w/w SG from HPM Chemicals & Fertilizers.
  • Systemic action: the active ingredient is taken up by the plant and acts on susceptible pests through their nervous system.
  • Crop-specific directions: the official HPM product page provides separate rates and methods for groundnut, sugarcane, rice and cotton.
  • Resistance classification: IRAC Group 4A makes the mode of action clear for rotation planning.

Product scienceHow It Works

Thiamethoxam acts on insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. By disrupting normal nerve-signal transmission in susceptible pests, it causes loss of control and death. Because Devsena is systemic, the method and placement on the label are important: HPM directs soil drenching for groundnut, sugarcane and cotton, and a label-specific sand-broadcast method for rice.

Thiamethoxam and other neonicotinoids share IRAC Group 4A. Another Group 4A product is a same-group substitute, not a different-mode-of-action rotation. Where a further treatment is justified, use a locally effective product from a different IRAC group whose own current label covers the same crop, pest and timing.

How to applyDosage & Application Guide

Use the crop-specific rate and method. Do not convert these soil and sand-broadcast directions into a universal grams-per-litre spray dose.

CropProduct RateOfficial Application MediumPHI
Groundnut50 g/acre200–400 L water/acre; soil drench as directed57 days
Sugarcane64 g/acre200–400 L water/acre; soil drench as directed230 days
Rice (Paddy)60 g/acreDissolve in 500 ml water, mix with sand at the label rate and broadcast; HPM specifies 20 kg sand/ha60 days
Cotton50 g/acreSoil drench; HPM specifies 50–100 ml prepared solution per plant109 days

PHI means pre-harvest interval: the minimum time between the last application and harvest. Rates and methods above are transcribed from HPM’s Devsena product page; the current physical pack label is the final authority.

How to applyApplication Best Practices
  • Measure the required crop-specific quantity. First mix it with a small quantity of water, then add the remaining labelled water volume with thorough agitation.
  • For groundnut, sugarcane and cotton, direct the soil drench to the plant base/root zone exactly as stated on the label.
  • For rice, use the label’s sand-mix broadcast method; do not substitute a foliar per-litre dose.
  • Do not exceed the label rate, shorten the PHI, or extend use to unlisted crops or pests.
  • Do not assume universal tank-mix compatibility. Follow both labels and qualified local guidance if a combination is being considered.
Use with careSafety & Disclaimer

Always read and follow the current official HPM Devsena label and leaflet. The physical pack is the final authority for crop, pest, dose, method, timing, frequency, re-entry, precautions, disposal and PHI. Thiamethoxam is highly toxic to bees and very toxic to aquatic life; prevent contamination of water bodies and follow all pollinator-protection restrictions. This page does not replace the label, qualified agronomic advice or medical advice.
