Ethaboxam is classified in FRAC Group 22. It interferes with beta-tubulin polymerisation in susceptible oomycete pathogens, disrupting cell division and development.

1. Protective deposit: The fungicide is applied before infection or at the first visible symptoms.
2. Tissue movement: Systemic and translaminar activity helps protect treated potato foliage.
3. Disease-cycle disruption: Spore germination, penetration, mycelial development and sporulation are suppressed.
4. Resistance stewardship: Alternate or combine only according to the label with effective fungicides from different FRAC groups.

Current major-use data confirms potato late blight. A registration-committee record mentions grape downy mildew, but that use should not be applied unless it appears on the physical Derecho pack supplied.

• Scout potato fields regularly and apply preventively or at the first sign of late blight, as directed on the current label.
• Use 500–663 ml formulation/ha in 500 L water/ha unless the supplied label states a more specific situation.
• Calibrate the sprayer and obtain uniform coverage of the potato canopy, including developing foliage.
• Do not derive a universal 100 ml tank or acreage claim from the pack size.
• Observe the 11-day pre-harvest interval and all label directions concerning timing and number of applications.
• Use a resistance programme that avoids repeated exclusive reliance on FRAC Group 22.

• Wear the protective clothing, gloves, eye and respiratory protection specified on the label.
• Ethaboxam products are hazardous to fish and aquatic organisms; prevent spray, runoff and washings from entering water.
• Keep the product away from children, animals, food and animal feed and store it in the original closed container.
• Do not apply to grapes or another crop unless that exact use is present on the current Derecho pack.
• Do not tank-mix unless both labels permit the mixture and compatibility and crop safety have been confirmed.
