Cypermethrin is classified by IRAC in Group 3A. Group 3A insecticides modulate voltage-gated sodium channels in the insect nervous system, disrupting normal nerve signalling and producing hyperexcitation and nerve block. Cyperhit-25 acts when the target pest contacts the deposit or ingests treated plant material; it is not described here as systemic.

Mode-of-action grouping should guide resistance stewardship. Do not treat successive pest generations repeatedly with insecticides from the same IRAC group. Use the current label and a locally appropriate integrated pest-management programme.
