Cypermethrin is classified by IRAC in Group 3A. Group 3A insecticides modulate voltage-gated sodium channels in the insect nervous system, disrupting normal nerve signalling and producing hyperexcitation and nerve block. Cyperhit-10 acts through contact and ingestion; it is not described here as systemic.

IRAC grouping is also important for resistance stewardship. Do not treat successive pest generations repeatedly with insecticides from the same mode-of-action group. Follow the current label and a locally appropriate integrated pest-management programme.
