Bayer Council Activ Rice Herbicide - Product Overview

Bayer Council Activ is a selective post-emergence rice herbicide containing Triafamone 20% + Ethoxysulfuron 10% WG. Bayer positions it for transplanted rice and wet direct-seeded rice, where the applicable label row covers listed grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds.

Council Activ must be used only for the rice establishment system and weed spectrum printed on the current pack. Keep the formulation rate, spray-water volume, pre-harvest interval and all application conditions together. The current approved label takes priority if it differs from this page.

Triafamone can enter susceptible weeds through roots and leaves, while Bayer describes Ethoxysulfuron as acting mainly through foliage. Both inhibit acetolactate synthase, an enzyme involved in branched-chain amino-acid biosynthesis. Because both actives are Group 2, this premix has one classified site of action and should not be described as a two-group resistance rotation.

How to applyApplication & Resistance Care
  • Identify the rice establishment system and target weeds before choosing the applicable row.
  • Measure the treated area and use the hectare formulation and water quantities exactly as labelled.
  • Do not create a universal g/L, tank, pump, sachet or unsourced acre dose.
  • Do not add a tank mix, adjuvant, repeat interval or drone procedure unless the current Council Activ label expressly permits it.
  • Use integrated weed-management practices, monitor escapes and prevent surviving weeds from setting seed.
  • A different Group 2 herbicide is not a different-group resistance rotation. Check the alternative product's own current India label.
