Bispyribac Sodium is classified as an HRAC/WSSA Group 2 herbicide. It inhibits the ALS/AHAS enzyme in susceptible weeds, interrupting production of essential branched-chain amino acids. Growth stops after uptake, followed by decline of susceptible weeds. The classification describes the site of action; it does not guarantee control where resistance is present.
