HPM Clodino Super Clodinafop-Propargyl 15% WP Wheat Herbicide
HerbicidesHPM Clodino Super Herbicide: Product Overview
HPM Clodino Super is a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide containing Clodinafop-propargyl 15% WP. Its verified Indian use is the control of Phalaris minor, commonly called canary grass or little-seed canary grass, in wheat.
The HPM recommendation table and the Government of India PPQS major-use record agree on the active ingredient, 15% WP formulation, wheat crop, Phalaris minor target and 110-day pre-harvest interval. This page keeps that narrow registered scope and does not extend the product to an unlisted crop or weed.
HPM recommends 160 g formulation per acre in 150–160 litres of water. The corresponding PPQS formulation row is stated in its original official units as 400 g/ha in 375–400 L water/ha. Keep the official units and measure field area, formulation and water accurately. Do not turn either row into a universal per-litre, knapsack or pump dose.

7 topicsWhat stands outVerified Product Features
- Defined wheat use: the registered recommendation used here is specific to wheat.
- Defined grass-weed target: the verified 15% WP recommendation names Phalaris minor.
- Post-emergence action: HPM describes foliar uptake after the target grass weed has emerged and is actively growing.
- Systemic mode of action: Clodinafop-propargyl inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase, disrupting fatty-acid synthesis in susceptible grass weeds.
- Resistance-planning classification: HRAC/WSSA places Clodinafop-propargyl in Group 1, legacy Group A.

Product scienceHow Clodino Super Works
Clodinafop-propargyl is absorbed through susceptible grass-weed foliage and moves toward actively growing tissue. It inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase, commonly abbreviated ACCase, an enzyme needed for fatty-acid synthesis. Interrupting this process stops normal development of new tissue and leads to progressive decline of susceptible weeds.
HRAC/WSSA classifies Clodinafop-propargyl as a Group 1 herbicide. Repeated reliance on the same mode of action can select resistant weed populations. A same-active Related product is therefore a substitute, not a resistance rotation. A different-group recommendation is only a standalone program option where its own label independently matches wheat, Phalaris minor and the required application stage. No recommendation on this page is a tank-mix or simultaneous-use instruction.
How to applyRegistered Crop, Weed, Rate, Water and PHI
| Source basis | Crop | Target weed | Formulation rate | Water volume | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HPM recommendation | Wheat | Phalaris minor | 160 g/acre | 150–160 L/acre | 110 days |
| PPQS 15% WP row | Wheat | Phalaris minor (canary grass) | 400 g/ha | 375–400 L/ha | 110 days |
PHI = pre-harvest interval. Do not use the 70-day PHI or 500 L/ha water figure published for the different 15% DF formulation. Do not calculate a universal grams-per-litre dose because the labelled water quantity is a range tied to field area.
How to applyApplication Guidance
- Confirm the crop and weed: use only in wheat when the target is Phalaris minor and every condition on the current Clodino Super pack is met.
- Apply post-emergence: HPM states that best results occur when most grass weeds have emerged and are actively growing. Follow the physical pack for the exact crop and weed stage.
- Measure by area: use 160 g/acre in 150–160 L water/acre. Do not guess a one-tank concentration or split a pack without measuring the treated area accurately.
- Plan around rain: HPM says not to apply if rainfall is expected within two hours. This is an application restriction, not a universal guarantee of rainfastness.
- Keep products separate unless authorised: no general compatibility claim is provided. Do not tank-mix, sequence or simultaneously apply another herbicide based on a recommendation card.
Use with careSafety, Handling and Storage
Read the current physical label and leaflet before opening the pack. Wear all personal protective equipment required there, avoid contact with skin and eyes, avoid breathing dust or spray mist, and do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or applying. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
Keep the product in its original labelled container, locked away from food, feed, children and animals. Prevent spray, wash water and empty packs from contaminating drains, wells and other water bodies. Never reuse an empty pesticide container. If exposure occurs, follow the first-aid directions on the current pack and obtain medical help with the label available. No numeric re-entry interval or toxicity-colour statement is added without the current product label.
Use with careSafety Disclaimer
Always read and follow the current HPM Clodino Super label and leaflet. They are the final authority for crop, weed, rate, water volume, timing, equipment, PPE, first aid, storage, disposal, re-entry, compatibility and pre-harvest interval. Recommendations shown elsewhere on this page are standalone alternatives, not instructions to combine products.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which crop and weed are verified for Clodino Super?
Wheat and Phalaris minor (canary grass). No other crop or weed is added to this page.
What is the verified HPM rate?
HPM states 160 g formulation per acre in 150–160 litres of water per acre.
What is the pre-harvest interval?
The HPM recommendation and the PPQS 15% WP row both state 110 days.
Why is a 70-day PHI not used here?
The PPQS 70-day row belongs to Clodinafop-propargyl 15% DF, not this 15% WP product.
Can Clodino Super be mixed with another herbicide?
No universal tank-mix claim is made. Mix, sequence or substitute products only when the current labels and an authorised agronomic recommendation expressly support the program.
