Syngenta Cigna: Product Overview

Syngenta Cigna contains Lufenuron 5.4% w/w EC. It is an insect growth inhibitor for the specific crop-and-pest combinations on the current Indian label. It is not a general-purpose pesticide and must not be applied to crops or pests that are not listed on that label.

Lufenuron is a benzoylurea classified by IRAC in Group 15. It inhibits chitin biosynthesis, so susceptible larvae cannot complete normal moulting and cuticle formation. This is a larval-growth mode of action; it should not be presented as a universal knockdown treatment for every insect problem.
