FMC Chemdoot Insecticide: Product Overview

FMC Chemdoot is a soluble-granule insecticide containing Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG. FMC describes Chemdoot as a semi-synthetic, non-systemic avermectin insecticide with translaminar and contact action.

Emamectin benzoate belongs to IRAC Group 6. IRAC classifies it as a glutamate-gated chloride channel (GluCl) allosteric modulator affecting insect nerve and muscle function. It is a defined mode-of-action tool, not an all-crop or all-insect treatment.

FMC's current Chemdoot page lists cotton, okra, cabbage, chilli, brinjal, red gram and soybean with specific target pests. The crop, pest, dose, water volume, timing, maximum applications, pre-harvest interval and precautions on the current physical Indian pack remain the final authority.

How to applyApplication and Resistance Stewardship
  • Identify both the crop and pest correctly. Use Chemdoot only when the current pack and local threshold guidance support treatment.
  • Measure the crop-specific formulation rate accurately. Use clean, calibrated foliar-spray equipment and the label-directed water volume for thorough, even coverage.
  • Do not convert the table into one universal grams-per-litre, per-acre or 15-litre-pump dose. Water volume and PHI vary by crop.
  • When another treatment is independently justified, resistance planning should consider a separately applied product with a different effective IRAC group whose own label covers that crop and pest.
  • Another Emamectin Benzoate product remains Group 6 even when its trade name differs. It is a same-active substitute, not a different-group rotation.
  • No tank-mix, layering or automatic spray-sequence recommendation is made here. Check each product's current label separately.
Use with careSafety, Storage and Environmental Care
  • Read the current label and leaflet before opening. Wear every item of personal protective equipment specified on the pack while measuring, mixing, spraying and cleaning equipment.
  • Avoid dust and contact with skin or eyes. Do not inhale or ingest the product, and do not eat, drink or smoke while handling it.
  • Keep children, animals and unprotected people away. Follow the current pack for re-entry and every crop-specific harvest interval.
