HPM describes Cheetah as being absorbed by weed roots and foliage, then moved through the xylem and phloem to growing regions. Imazethapyr inhibits the ALS / AHAS enzyme involved in producing the branched-chain amino acids valine, leucine and isoleucine. This interrupts normal growth in susceptible weeds.

Imazethapyr belongs to HRAC/WSSA Group 2. A mode-of-action number describes the biochemical target; it is not a guarantee of control and does not replace correct weed identification, application timing or resistance stewardship.

• Soybean: HPM's current Cheetah page lists named grass, broadleaf and sedge weeds.
• Groundnut: HPM's current Cheetah page lists a separate set of named grass, broadleaf and sedge weeds.
• Other crops: do not assume Cheetah is registered for another pulse, legume or crop because another Imazethapyr product carries that use.
• Weed spectrum: confirm the weed species on the current pack. “Broad-spectrum” does not mean every weed or resistant population will be controlled.

• Read the current Cheetah label and leaflet before opening the container. Confirm crop, weed, crop stage, weed stage, soil conditions and weather limits.
• Use only the label's rate, spray-water volume, equipment, nozzle, number of applications, re-entry interval and pre-harvest interval.
• Do not calculate a universal ml-per-litre, pump or acres-per-pack rate from this page. Those conversions can change the delivered field dose.
• Do not add an adjuvant, fertilizer or another pesticide unless the current Cheetah label or an authorised local recommendation explicitly permits that exact combination.
• Prevent drift onto non-target crops and vegetation. Use clean, calibrated equipment and dispose of rinsate only as the label directs.

• Avoid repeated reliance on Imazethapyr or other HRAC Group 2 herbicides alone.
• Use crop rotation, cultural and mechanical weed control, clean seed and field hygiene where practical.
• If a separate herbicide treatment is agronomically justified, select a product with a different effective HRAC group whose own label independently covers the crop, weed and timing.
• Investigate survivors rather than automatically repeating the same Group 2 treatment.

• Wear all personal protective equipment specified on the current pack while measuring, mixing, applying and cleaning equipment.
• Avoid inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew while handling the product.
• Prevent spray drift, runoff and contamination of ponds, drains, wells, irrigation channels and aquaculture. Avoid exposing people, animals and non-target organisms.
• Store locked in the original labelled container, away from children, food, feed and medicines. Never reuse an empty pesticide container.
• If exposure or poisoning is suspected, follow the pack's first-aid directions, obtain medical help promptly and show the label. Do not invent or self-administer an antidote.
