Nichino Chandika Insecticide: Product Overview
Nichino Chandika is a non-systemic contact-and-stomach insecticide containing Chlorpyrifos 50% + Cypermethrin 5% EC. Nichino lists Chandika for named insect pests in cotton and paddy. It is not a plant nutrient, growth promoter or biological input.
Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate in IRAC Group 1B, while Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid in IRAC Group 3A. The combination acts at two insect nerve targets. This does not make resistance impossible and does not justify repeated, calendar-based sprays.
Important Indian restriction: Chlorpyrifos use is banned on Ber, Citrus and Tobacco. Do not buy, recommend or apply Chandika for those crops. Use it only where the current Chandika pack lists the crop and pest.
Application-data hold: official web sources conflict on the land-area unit attached to the formulation quantity. Dose, spray-water volume and PHI are therefore withheld here until the current Chandika pack and leaflet are inspected.
