Celdox Fungicide by Mahindra Summit

Celdox contains azoxystrobin 18.2% + difenoconazole 11.4% SC. Its two active ingredients affect fungal respiration and sterol production.

Composition: azoxystrobin 18.2% + difenoconazole 11.4% SC.

Verified scope: The manufacturer’s crop-and-target pairings are listed below.

Before use: Confirm the product rate, water volume, method and waiting period on the supplied label.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🛡️Two fungal target sites: Respiration and sterol production are affected by separate components.
  • 🌾Cereal-disease scope: Rice, maize and wheat each have named disease pairings.
  • 🌶️Vegetable programmes: Chilli, tomato and onion recommendations are separately identified.
  • 🌱Oilseed and pulse scope: Groundnut, soybean and black gram appear in the manufacturer table.
  • 🔄Resistance-group clarity: FRAC Groups 11 and 3 support planning without implying resistance cannot develop.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Celdox combines inhibition of fungal respiration with inhibition of sterol production. Mahindra lists twelve crops with specific disease pairings.

  1. Respiration effect: Azoxystrobin interferes with mitochondrial electron transport at the Qo site.
  2. Membrane effect: Difenoconazole interferes with sterol production needed for normal fungal cell membranes.
  3. Combined activity: The two components affect different processes in susceptible pathogens.

Changing brand names does not necessarily change the mode of action. Follow a crop-specific resistance-management plan and all limits on repeat applications.

Target Crops & Diseases

Mahindra’s Celdox recommendation table names the following crop-and-target pairings.

Crop Target Disease(s)
Chilli
  • Anthracnose; powdery mildew
Tomato
  • Early blight; late blight
Rice (paddy)
  • Blast; sheath blight
Maize
  • Blight; downy mildew
Wheat
  • Rust; powdery mildew
Cotton
  • Leaf spot; grey mildew
Turmeric
  • Leaf blotch; leaf spot; rhizome rot
Onion
  • Purple blotch; Stemphylium blight; downy mildew
Sugarcane
  • Red rot; smut; rust
Groundnut
  • Tikka leaf spot; rust
Black gram
  • Leaf spot; powdery mildew
Soybean
  • Leaf spot; rust

Each target belongs only to its listed crop. Do not extend these recommendations to unlisted crops or assume that every listed target applies to every crop.

Dosage & Application Guide

Mahindra explicitly states the dilution below. Water volumes and harvest intervals shown alongside it are current CIBRC formulation references, not a complete current Celdox label; confirm the exact method and crop conditions on the pack.

Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)

Crop Manufacturer rate Water reference Method PHI reference
Chilli / Tomato 1 ml/L water 500 L/ha Follow pack 5 days
Cereals 1 ml/L water 500 L/ha Follow pack See paired note
Cotton 1 ml/L water 500 L/ha Follow pack 12 days
Turmeric 1 ml/L water 500 L/ha Follow pack 60 days
Onion 1 ml/L water 500 L/ha Follow pack 7 days
Sugarcane 1 ml/L water 400 L/ha Follow pack 265 days
Groundnut 500 ml/ha; 1 ml/L 500 L/ha Follow pack 46 days
Black gram 500 ml/ha; 1 ml/L 500 L/ha Follow pack 23 days
Soybean 500 ml/ha; 1 ml/L 500 L/ha Follow pack 16 days

Each row applies only to the diseases paired with that crop above. The cereals row covers rice (PHI 31 days), maize (26 days) and wheat (35 days). Chilli and tomato share quantitative directions but have different disease targets. The 500 ml/ha product rate explicitly stated for groundnut, black gram and soybean equals about 202 ml/acre; do not extend that area rate to every listed crop.

The water and PHI references are from CIBRC’s 30 September 2026 entry for this formulation. PHI runs from the last application to harvest. Generic coffee and banana entries are not added to Mahindra’s twelve-crop scope. Use the current brand label to confirm the complete programme.

The dilution alone does not define the application route, frequency or total dose for every situation. Confirm equipment, crop stage, repeat limits, re-entry and mixtures. No rhizome-treatment, sett-treatment or drench method is inferred from a disease name.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Match the target: Check the full Celdox identity, crop and target against the supplied label.
  • Measure correctly: Use the label’s explicit product unit and water volume; do not substitute a hectare quantity for an acre quantity.
  • Follow the approved method: Use only the preparation, equipment and application route specified on the pack. Do not assume a tank mixture is permitted.
  • Protect people and water: Wear the specified protective equipment and prevent drift or runoff into water and neighbouring crops.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Celdox’s active ingredients?Azoxystrobin 18.2% and difenoconazole 11.4% in an SC formulation.

Is there one harvest interval for every crop? No. The current generic references differ substantially by crop, from 5 days for chilli and tomato to 265 days for sugarcane. Confirm the supplied Celdox label.

What dilution does Mahindra state? The manufacturer table states 1 ml per litre of water for its listed programmes. Use this only with the correct crop-specific water volume, product rate and method on the current pack.

Can I assume a soil drench for turmeric rhizome rot?No. A disease name does not establish an application route. The public table does not provide a complete turmeric method; check the current pack.

Can I use it on banana or coffee from a generic list? Those crops appear in the generic formulation reference but not in the retrieved Celdox manufacturer table. No Celdox recommendation is supplied for them here.
