1. Exposure: susceptible pests receive the active ingredient through contact or feeding on treated plant surfaces.
2. Nerve-system action: profenofos inhibits acetylcholinesterase, disrupting normal nerve transmission in the target pest.
3. Resistance stewardship: repeated Group 1B use can select resistant populations. Curacron and Getrid are same-active alternatives, not rotation partners. If another treatment is justified, use a label-approved product from a different effective IRAC group.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. These are hectare-based values from the Government of India formulation-level major-use record. No per-acre or per-litre conversion has been invented. The current physical Carina pack remains the final authority.

• Confirm the label use: match the crop, pest, rate, water volume, application timing and PHI before opening the pack.
• Mix accurately: measure the label quantity, prepare a homogeneous spray solution and use calibrated high- or low-volume equipment suitable for the crop.
• Apply for coverage: spray in the appropriate wind direction and obtain thorough, even coverage while preventing drift.
• Repeat only when justified: PI's product guidance mentions a 10-15 day spray interval. Follow the current pack and local agronomic advice rather than treating this as an automatic calendar spray.
• Do not improvise mixtures: no universal tank-mix or compatibility claim is made. Recommendation cards are standalone alternatives, never mixing instructions.

• Carina is labelled highly toxic. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection while measuring, mixing and spraying.
• Avoid inhalation and contact with skin, eyes and mouth. Do not eat, drink or smoke during handling. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
• Keep away from children, animals, food and feed. Prevent drift, surplus spray and equipment washings from reaching water bodies.
• If exposure or symptoms occur, obtain urgent medical attention and show the current pack label. PI lists atropine sulfate and, in severe cases, 2-PAM as medical antidotal treatment; these must be administered only by a qualified medical professional and never self-administered.
