Carbofuran belongs to IRAC Group 1A. It inhibits acetylcholinesterase in susceptible insects, disrupting normal nerve signaling. Nichino describes Carbogran as having contact and systemic action and states that it is taken up through roots and moves within the plant.

Mode of action does not justify claims that the product is resistance-proof, cures every established infestation, guarantees yield or is universally compatible with fertilizers or pesticides. Repeated use of the same mode-of-action group can select resistant pest populations. Base any treatment on field scouting, the current label and qualified local advice.

Nichino's current page lists Carbogran uses against specified insects and nematodes across multiple field, vegetable and fruit crops. The exact crop, target and rate vary. Because the current Nichino web table and the reviewed PPQS formulation table do not reconcile cleanly, this page intentionally does not publish a numeric multi-crop dose chart.

1. Identify the crop and target: confirm that both appear together on the current Carbogran label supplied with the pack.
2. Measure the treated area or plant basis: follow the exact unit and rate on that label; do not convert a different crop or pest rate.
3. Apply as granules: use the label-specified granule applicator or placement method. Do not dissolve the granules or use them as a foliar spray.
4. Respect conditions: avoid application during high wind or when heavy rain is forecast, and follow label instructions for soil moisture, field water, timing and frequency.

India's official PPQS restriction identifies Carbofuran 3% encapsulated granules with crop labels as the formulation exception.
