How It Works: Mode of Action
Cabrio Top combines a multi-site fungicide with a Group 11 QoI
fungicide.
-
Contact activity: Metiram affects multiple processes in susceptible pathogens on treated surfaces.
-
Respiration inhibition: Pyraclostrobin blocks complex III at the Qo site in fungal mitochondria.
-
Restricted growth: Reduced energy supply and complementary contact activity limit the listed diseases.
Group 11 resistance can occur. Follow label limits and rotate with
effective different mode-of-action groups rather than relying repeatedly on this mixture.

Dosage & Application Guide
Use these amounts and harvest restrictions as separate crop references, not complete spray schedules. Confirm
the supplied pack’s first application timing, method, coverage and repeat interval for the exact crop and disease before
treatment.
Crop amounts and harvest safeguards
Apple: For premature leaf fall and Alternaria leaf spot and blight, the stated concentration is 100
g/100 L of water. Leave at least 12 days from the final treatment to harvest. No fixed product amount or total water per acre is given
here; obtain the orchard’s coverage and application directions before use.
BASF’s regional apple programmes place Cabrio Top at the walnut stage in Kashmir and the peanut stage in
Himachal Pradesh. These are region-specific planning references, not a universal first-treatment stage or a substitute for the
supplied pack’s disease and application directions.
Grapes: downy mildew: The current crop overview lists 600–700 g/acre with 200 L/acre of water. The
Indian leaflet separately lists 750 L/ha of water (approximately 303.51 L/acre). The water quantities differ: confirm the supplied
pack’s grape directions before treatment, without mixing the two references. Retain at least 34 days from final treatment to
harvest.
Chilli, tomato and cucumber: For chilli anthracnose, tomato early blight and cucumber downy mildew, the
manufacturer lists 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre. Each has a minimum five-day interval from final treatment to harvest. The first
timing and complete crop application directions still need confirmation on the supplied pack.
Onion and potato: The amount reference is 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre for onion purple blotch and
potato late blight. Keep the harvest intervals separate: at least 16 days for onion and 15 days for potato after the final
treatment.
Green gram and black gram: For green gram Cercospora leaf spot and black gram leaf spot, the amount
reference is 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre. Leave at least 18 days for green gram and 32 days for black gram between final treatment
and harvest.
Groundnut and pomegranate: For groundnut tikka disease and pomegranate fruit spot, the amount reference
is 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre. Leave at least 42 days for groundnut and 67 days for pomegranate between final treatment and
harvest.
Banana and cumin: The amount reference is 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre for banana Sigatoka leaf spot and
cumin Alternaria blight or powdery mildew. Leave at least 85 days for banana and 20 days for cumin after the final
treatment.
Bitter gourd: downy mildew: The manufacturer lists 600–700 g/acre in 200 L/acre. Confirm the harvest
interval and complete application directions on the supplied pack before treatment; do not borrow another crop’s five-day
interval.
Cotton: Alternaria leaf spot: Use only if the supplied Cabrio Top label includes cotton. An Indian
Cabrio Top leaflet lists 1,500–1,750 g/ha (approximately 607–708 g/acre) in 500 L/ha (approximately 202 L/acre), with at least 45 days
from final treatment to harvest. This amount and harvest reference does not supply the missing first timing or establish permission
for a pack that omits cotton.
PHI is the minimum interval from the final application to harvest. Harvest, worker re-entry and
repeat-treatment restrictions are separate; a missing interval is not zero. No per-litre, pump or tank recipe is calculated from area
amounts. The apple concentration stays in its stated 100 g/100 L form, without a derived tree or acre dose.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Crop and method: Use the matching crop programme and the pack’s application method, stage and repeat interval.
-
Apple spray concentration: Measure 100 g per 100 L of water for the listed apple diseases. Choose the water volume according to the
supplied orchard instructions.
-
Mixtures: BASF’s apple guidance does not recommend spraying Cabrio Top and Merivon together. Do not assume other mixtures are
permitted.
-
Harvest: Observe the crop-specific harvest safeguards above; intervals differ substantially between crops. Confirm the bitter-gourd
harvest interval before treatment.
Preparing the spray: For a crop and use permitted by the supplied leaflet, mix the measured product well
with a small quantity of water, add the remaining specified water with agitation, and spray with a knapsack or high-volume sprayer.
These equipment directions do not set a first-treatment stage or resolve the grape water difference.
Use any proposed mixture only if both current product labels permit it for the crop and method; do not spray
Cabrio Top and Merivon together on apple. Do not substitute another brand, concentration or overseas directions. Record the crop,
field, date and product amount. Follow the supplied pack’s weather precautions and rain-free period rather than assuming a fixed
rainfast interval. Observe all harvest, worker-entry and repeat-treatment restrictions before the next operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the apple dose area-based?
No. The stated concentration is 100 g/100 L of water, not a guessed acre or tree dose. Follow the supplied
orchard coverage directions.
Does every crop have the same harvest interval?
No. Use the matching crop’s harvest restriction, not a general interval for the product. Confirm the
bitter-gourd interval on the supplied pack before use.
Can Cabrio Top and Merivon be sprayed together on apple?
BASF’s apple guidance does not recommend that combination.
Can I use one tank recipe for all crops?
No. Apple uses a stated concentration; other crops have area-amount references. The grape overview and
leaflet give different water quantities, so the supplied pack must resolve the complete directions.
Can Cabrio Top be used on cotton?
Use it for cotton Alternaria leaf spot only if your current supplied Cabrio Top label permits that use and
gives the complete application directions. The separate amount, water and 45-day harvest reference above does not by itself authorize
treatment.
