Bumper - Propiconazole 25% EC - ADAMA
Bumper Fungicide | Propiconazole 25% EC
A systemic foliar fungicide with protective and curative activity against specified fungal diseases in the
listed crops.
Treatment type: Systemic foliar fungicide with protective and curative
activity.
Movement in the plant: Moves upwards through the xylem, the plant’s water-carrying
tissue.
Before spraying: Confirm the disease and crop-specific first application timing,
product quantity and harvest interval.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
-
🌿 Moves within the plant: After foliar
uptake, Bumper moves upwards through water-carrying tissue rather than acting only on the leaf surface.
-
🛡️ Protective activity: Helps protect
against susceptible fungal diseases when the correct crop-specific programme is followed.
-
🎯 Curative activity: Acts against
susceptible fungal infection as well as providing protection; it cannot repair damaged leaves or infected grain.
-
🌾 Several crop-specific uses: Offers
disease-control uses in wheat, rice, groundnut, soybean, tea and cotton, with each disease matched to its own crop directions.

How It Works: Mode of Action
-
Enters through the foliar treatment: The active ingredient is taken into plant tissue after the permitted leaf application.
-
Moves upwards in the xylem: Movement through water-carrying tissue contributes to its systemic activity.
-
Disrupts fungal membranes: Propiconazole inhibits a step in sterol production, interfering with the membranes needed for normal
fungal growth.
A different brand containing a Group 3 fungicide is not a new mode of action. Plan resistance management with
crop monitoring and other effective, label-permitted treatments; do not assume unlimited repeat use.

Confirm that the supplied Bumper label includes the particular crop and disease before use. Protective or
curative activity does not authorize treatment of an unlisted disease.
Dosage & Application Guide
Match foliar coverage to the crop
Use the label-directed foliar method. Area-water guidance is 750 L/ha, approximately 303.51 L/acre, for the
listed wheat, rice and groundnut diseases; 175–250 L/ha, approximately 70.82–101.17 L/acre, for tea blister blight; and 500 L/ha,
approximately 202.34 L/acre, for soybean rust and cotton Alternaria leaf spot.
These water volumes are not product rates or complete treatment programmes. Before spraying, obtain the
crop-specific product quantity, first application timing, equipment, mixing directions and harvest restriction from the supplied
label. Do not transfer a wheat programme to tea or infer a tank dose from bottle size. A missing interval does not mean zero waiting
time.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Diagnose the disease: Match the crop and symptoms to the disease list. Seek qualified crop advice if the cause is uncertain.
-
Check when to begin: Use the first application timing specified for the particular crop and disease. Protective and curative
activity alone do not define a spraying date.
-
Use the foliar directions: Follow the pack’s equipment, preparation and coverage instructions. Do not substitute a seed, tuber,
soil-drench, irrigation or drone treatment.
-
Control drift and exposure: Wear the required protective equipment, observe weather precautions and keep drift away from people,
neighbouring crops and water.
-
Keep separate records: Record the product, crop, area and date. Observe the crop-specific harvest interval, worker re-entry period
and repeat-use limits as separate restrictions.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is Bumper an insecticide?
No. It is a propiconazole fungicide for the specified fungal diseases, not a treatment for insect
damage.
2. What does systemic foliar action mean?
It is taken up after leaf application and moves upwards in the xylem. This does not establish a
seed-treatment or soil-drench use.
3. Will curative activity repair existing crop damage?
No. It acts on susceptible fungal infection, but damaged tissue or infected grain is not restored.
4. Is one dose suitable for every listed crop?
No. Match the product quantity, water, application timing and harvest restriction to the exact crop and
disease. Keep harvest, repeat and re-entry intervals separate.
5. Can I mix Bumper with another product?
Only when both current labels permit the exact products, crop and application method. Do not assume that a
fertilizer, adjuvant or another pesticide can be added simply because it can be physically mixed.
