FMC Brigade Power: Product Overview

FMC Brigade Power is an acaricide/insecticide premix containing Propargite 50% + Bifenthrin 5% w/w SE. FMC and the current Indian label identify it for mites, whitefly and jassids in tomato and okra.

The label describes Brigade Power as a contact and stomach-action product. Propargite is an IRAC Group 12C mitochondrial ATP-synthase inhibitor used against mites, while Bifenthrin is an IRAC Group 3A sodium-channel modulator with insecticidal and acaricidal activity. The premix therefore combines two distinct modes of action, but it must still be used only on the crops, targets and directions stated on the current pack.

  1. Exposure: the leaflet describes contact and stomach routes, so accurate label-directed coverage is important.
  2. Mite energy disruption: Propargite belongs to IRAC Group 12C and inhibits mitochondrial ATP synthase in susceptible mites.
  3. Nerve disruption: Bifenthrin belongs to Group 3A and modulates sodium channels in susceptible arthropods.
  4. Stewardship: because Brigade Power already exposes a population to Groups 12C and 3A, neither group should be treated as a different-mode rotation immediately afterward.
