1. Exposure: the product acts through systemic uptake, direct contact and ingestion as described by ADAMA.
2. Nerve-channel blockade: Cartap hydrochloride blocks nicotinic acetylcholine receptor channels, interrupting normal nerve and muscle signalling in susceptible insects.
