Nichino Bifors: Product Overview
Nichino Bifors is a foliar insecticide containing Ethion 40% + Cypermethrin 5% EC. The current Nichino recommendation and a Government of India primary package label for this exact formulation support one precise use on this page: control of American bollworm in cotton.
Bifors combines two nerve-action insecticide groups in one registered formulation. Ethion is an IRAC Group 1B organophosphate acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, while Cypermethrin is an IRAC Group 3A pyrethroid sodium-channel modulator. Nichino describes activity through contact or ingestion. The two groups are already present together in Bifors; this does not justify calling it a resistance breaker, adding another insecticide to the tank or repeating Group 1B or Group 3A products as a rotation.
The verified Nichino recommendation is 400 ml per acre. The primary Indian label expresses the same area treatment as 1000 ml formulation per hectare in 500 litres of water, supplying 400 g Ethion a.i. and 50 g Cypermethrin a.i. per hectare. Keep the formulation rate tied to the treated area and the label water volume. Do not turn the arithmetic ratio into a universal per-litre dose for every sprayer or crop.
