FMC Biflex TC: Product Overview

FMC Biflex TC is a household insecticide and structural termiticide containing Bifenthrin 2.5% w/w EC. The verified Indian label role is control of termites in buildings through pre-construction and post-construction treatment, together with wood-borer control in plywood, veneer and wood.

This is not a crop-use page. Bifenthrin 2.5% EC is listed under household insecticides for these structural and wood-material applications. It must not be promoted for foliar spraying, agricultural soil pests, seed treatment, crop termites or any dose per acre. Crop uses attached to other Bifenthrin strengths, such as 8%, 8.8% or 10%, cannot be transferred to this 2.5% EC product.

For termites in buildings, the Indian direction is 20 ml formulation diluted in 1 litre of water, giving 0.05% active-ingredient concentration. Pre-construction work must follow IS 6313 Part 2 and post-construction treatment must follow IS 6313 Part 3, together with the current pack label and latest applicable amendments. Structural application should be planned and carried out by a trained pest-management professional.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Biflex TC?
  • Verified structural role: registered use covers termite treatment in buildings before and after construction.
  • Verified wood-borer role: the label includes powder-post beetle control in plywood, veneer and wood.
  • Defined building dilution: the label states 20 ml formulation per 1 litre of water for termite treatment.
  • Material-specific wood directions: glue-line poisoning, dipping and brushing have separate verified rates rather than one invented universal dose.
  • Clear mode-of-action classification: Bifenthrin is an IRAC Group 3A pyrethroid sodium-channel modulator.

Product scienceHow Biflex TC Works
  1. Contact exposure: termites or wood borers contact the correctly treated zone or material.
  2. Nerve disruption: Bifenthrin acts as an IRAC Group 3A sodium-channel modulator in the insect nervous system.
  3. Loss of normal function: disrupted nerve signalling leads to hyperexcitation, paralysis and control of susceptible insects.

A complete structural treatment depends on correct diagnosis, access, preparation and continuous label-directed application. This page does not promise a fixed number of protection years, complete colony elimination, universal repellency or guaranteed results. No tank-mix or simultaneous-use claim is made.

How to applyApplication and Safety
  • Have a trained pest-management professional identify the infestation and select the correct pre-construction, post-construction or wood-treatment procedure.
  • For building treatment, measure 20 ml formulation for each 1 litre of water and follow the current label plus the applicable IS 6313 procedure. Do not increase the concentration without an authorised label direction.
  • The label recommends a hand-operated knapsack sprayer or foot sprayer. Use properly maintained, calibrated equipment suited to the approved treatment method.
  • Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, chemical-resistant gloves, goggles and covered shoes. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew betel leaves while handling the product.
  • Wash exposed skin with soap and plenty of water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash it separately before reuse.
  • Do not re-enter treated areas for 48 hours and until the spray has dried. Follow every additional access restriction on the current physical label.
  • Bifenthrin 2.5% EC is toxic to aquatic organisms and fish. Prevent product, treatment liquid, washings and containers from reaching water bodies, aquaculture or pisciculture areas.
  • Store locked in the original labelled container, separately from food, feed, children and livestock, in a dry and ventilated place. Never reuse the container.
Use with careSafety and Disclaimer

Symptoms of exposure listed on the Indian label include nose bleeding, tremors, convulsions and temporary skin sensations such as rash, numbness, burning or tingling. There is no specific antidote; treatment is symptomatic and supportive. If exposure occurs, follow the current pack's first-aid directions and obtain medical help with the container or label available. Always follow the current physical Biflex TC label, applicable law and the latest BIS/IS 6313 requirements. The pack is the final authority for use, dilution, equipment, re-entry, PPE, first aid, storage, disposal and environmental precautions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Biflex TC an agricultural crop insecticide?

No. The verified Bifenthrin 2.5% EC label classifies it as a household insecticide for termites in buildings and wood borers in plywood, veneer and wood. Do not transfer crop claims from other Bifenthrin formulations.

What is the verified dilution for termite treatment in buildings?

Dilute 20 ml formulation in 1 litre of water and follow the applicable IS 6313 pre-construction or post-construction procedure.

Can the dose be increased for a heavy infestation?

No stronger “high infestation” dilution is verified here. Do not use 25 ml per litre or another altered rate unless it appears on the current physical label.

How is Biflex TC used for wood borers?

The label gives separate plywood glue-line, plywood dipping, veneer dipping and wood dipping/brushing directions. Use only the row matching the material and method.

Should kerosene or mineral oil be used for the wood treatment?

The current Indian primary label checked specifies water for the 0.025% dipping/brushing solution. This page does not recommend kerosene or mineral oil.

How long does structural protection last?

No fixed warranty or universal number of years is claimed here. Performance depends on correct diagnosis, construction conditions, application quality and compliance with the current label and applicable standard.
