Bayer Bicota: Product Overview
Bayer Bicota is a granular insecticide containing Tetraniliprole 0.4% w/w + Fipronil 0.6% w/w GR. Bayer launched Bicota in India in June 2025 for paddy stem-borer management and lists a 5 kg pack.
The Government of India Registration Committee approved this Bayer formulation for rice stem borer and leaf folder, and for sugarcane early shoot borer and white grub. The current national major-use table dated 30 September 2025 provides separate formulation-rate ranges and waiting periods for the two crops. Those registered directions—not a generic internet dose—must guide application.
Bicota combines two insecticide modes of action. Tetraniliprole is an IRAC Group 28 diamide and Fipronil is an IRAC Group 2B phenylpyrazole. Bayer describes the formulation as an easy-to-apply granule that provides early protection against dead-heart symptoms. Actual performance depends on correct pest identification, timing, uniform broadcasting, field conditions and strict label use.
