Bhoomiputra Fungicide by HPM

A combination fungicide for HPM’s specified diseases in nine crops. Its two active ingredients affect fungal energy production and cell-membrane formation.

Composition: Azoxystrobin 18.2% w/w + Difenoconazole 11.4% w/w SC.

Crop fit: Cotton; Sugarcane; Wheat; Tomato; Paddy (rice); Onion; Maize; Chilli; Turmeric. Keep each target with its listed crop.

Before treatment: Check the current crop-specific rate, method, water and harvest directions.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🧩Two fungal targets: The premix combines respiratory and sterol-biosynthesis inhibition.
  • 🌿Systemic activity: The ingredients can act within treated plant tissue.
  • 🌾Nine-crop scope: HPM gives specific crop-and-disease pairings across cereals, vegetables and other field crops.
  • 🎯Distinct disease pairings: The guide keeps each spot, blight, rust or rot with the crop for which HPM lists it.
  • 🔄Two resistance groups: FRAC 11 and 3 make the action groups clear, without implying resistance-proof control.

Technical Specifications

Parameter Details

How It Works: Mode of Action

Azoxystrobin inhibits mitochondrial respiration at the Qo site of complex III. Difenoconazole inhibits a step in the production of ergosterol, an important fungal membrane component.

  1. Uptake and movement: The active ingredients have systemic activity; difenoconazole also moves across treated leaf tissue.
  2. Energy production is disrupted: Azoxystrobin interferes with the fungus’s respiratory electron transport.
  3. Membrane formation is disrupted: Difenoconazole limits ergosterol production, interfering with normal fungal growth.

A different brand name does not necessarily mean a different mode of action. Follow the crop label and a suitable resistance-management programme; do not rely repeatedly on the same group alone.

Target Crops & Diseases

HPM identifies these crop-and-target pairings. Check that the current supplied label includes your intended use.

Crop Target Disease(s)
Cotton
  • Leaf spot
  • Grey mildew
Sugarcane
  • Red rot
  • Smut
  • Rust
Wheat
  • Rust
  • Powdery mildew
Tomato
  • Early blight
  • Late blight
Paddy (rice)
  • Blast
  • Sheath blight
Onion

Maize
  • Blight
  • Downy mildew
Chilli
  • Anthracnose

Turmeric
  • Leaf blotch
  • Leaf spot
  • Rhizome rot

These are HPM’s nine named crop uses. Other crops listed for the same formulation in government records are not automatically confirmed uses of the supplied Bhoomiputra pack. Confirm the exact crop and treatment method.

Dosage & Application Guide

The HPM webpage’s product-dose unit is inconsistent, so the brand quantity is withheld. Its crop-specific water and harvest references are retained below, but they are not a complete treatment programme.

Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)

Crop / target Dose / Acre Water entry (L)* Per litre PHI (Days)
Cotton Confirm label* 200 See note† 12
Sugarcane Confirm label* 160 See note† 265
Wheat Confirm label* 200 See note† 35
Tomato Confirm label* 200 See note† 5
Paddy (rice) Confirm label* 200 See note† 31
Onion Confirm label* 200 See note† 7
Maize Confirm label* 200 See note† 26
Chilli Confirm label* 200 See note† 5
Turmeric Confirm label* 200 See note† 60

The HPM water column states litres without an explicit area basis. Treat these as raw source entries, not litres per acre; confirm their area basis on the current pack. *Obtain the current Bhoomiputra dose and method before treatment. Do not interpret the unclear public quantity as either millilitres or litres. Sugarcane’s long 265-day harvest interval must not be replaced by a vegetable-crop interval.

†Separate government formulation reference: 1 ml/L with 500 L water/ha for these crop-and-disease pairings, except sugarcane at 400 L/ha. This is not a complete current Bhoomiputra label and does not resolve the manufacturer’s quantity error. Do not combine references into a new programme.

Confirm the exact application method for every crop, particularly sugarcane red rot or smut and turmeric rhizome rot. Do not assume a foliar spray, seed or sett treatment, soil drench or drone use. Repeat limits, re-entry and rainfast time also require the current pack.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Match the target: Identify the crop and problem and check that the supplied label covers the intended treatment.
  • Verify the crop-specific route: Use only the supplied label’s treatment method, timing, equipment and coverage. A general statement about foliar or seed use does not supply a programme for every disease.
  • Check mixtures separately: No universal tank-mix recommendation is made. Use another product or adjuvant only when the relevant labels permit it.
  • Protect nearby crops and water: HPM warns that apples are sensitive; avoid drift onto apple trees. Follow pack precautions to protect people and water, and observe the crop-specific harvest interval.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Bhoomiputra contain?Azoxystrobin 18.2% w/w plus difenoconazole 11.4% w/w SC. Do not confuse it with an azoxystrobin–tebuconazole mixture.

Which crops does HPM list?Cotton, sugarcane, wheat, tomato, paddy, onion, maize, chilli and turmeric, with the specific diseases shown above.

Why is the brand dose withheld? The public HPM table has an inconsistent quantity and unit. The current pack must resolve it before application.

Does one harvest interval cover all nine crops? No. HPM lists different intervals, from 5 days for tomato and chilli to 265 days for sugarcane.

Is another same-active brand a different rotation group? No. It still uses FRAC 11 and 3. Follow an appropriate label-approved resistance programme rather than rotating brand names alone.
