HPM Bhoomiputra Fungicide: Product Overview

HPM Bhoomiputra is a systemic combination fungicide containing Azoxystrobin 18.2% + Difenoconazole 11.4% w/w SC. HPM identifies Bhoomiputra under registration number CIR-165986/2019 and lists it for specified fungal diseases in nine Indian crops.

Azoxystrobin and difenoconazole act at different fungal target sites. Azoxystrobin is a FRAC Group 11 QoI fungicide, while difenoconazole is a FRAC Group 3 DMI fungicide. HPM describes Bhoomiputra as having preventive, protective and early-curative activity. Apply it at the approved concentration, crop, disease, timing and safety conditions; do not treat this premix as resistance-proof.

Verified-use boundary: the crop-and-disease table below matches HPM's official Bhoomiputra recommendation and the Government of India PPQS statutory label for this formulation. The physical Bhoomiputra pack in hand remains the final authority and must be followed if it is more restrictive.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose HPM Bhoomiputra?
  • Two fungicide modes of action: combines FRAC Group 11 and Group 3 activities in one registered suspension concentrate.
  • Broad registered crop scope: the verified recommendation covers named diseases in chilli, tomato, paddy, maize, wheat, cotton, turmeric, onion and sugarcane.
  • Clear application concentration: the statutory recommendation gives 0.1% formulation, equivalent to 1 ml per litre of water.
  • Crop-specific harvest intervals: the verified table provides a separate PHI for each crop rather than using one generic waiting period.
  • Practical store pack choice: Mana Agri Mart lists 100 ml, 200 ml, 500 ml and 1 litre variants.

Product scienceHow Bhoomiputra Works
  1. Azoxystrobin - FRAC 11: inhibits fungal mitochondrial respiration at the Qo site of cytochrome bc1 complex III. This disrupts energy production and processes such as spore germination and fungal growth.
  2. Difenoconazole - FRAC 3: inhibits C14-demethylase during sterol biosynthesis, interfering with production of ergosterol needed for normal fungal cell membranes.
  3. Premix stewardship: two target sites do not eliminate resistance risk. FRAC classifies Group 11 fungicides as high risk with cross-resistance within the group. Limit Group 11 exposure and use a separately registered, effective different-FRAC fungicide when a later treatment is justified.

How to applyVerified Dose, Water Volume and PHI

Use the label concentration: 0.1% formulation, equivalent to 1 ml of Bhoomiputra per litre of water. The table retains the official hectare water volumes and does not invent a spray-pump dose.

CropFormulation concentrationWater volumeRe-entryPHI
Chilli0.1% (1 ml/L)500 L/ha24 hours5 days
Tomato0.1% (1 ml/L)500 L/ha24 hours5 days

PHI means pre-harvest interval. Do not shorten the listed waiting period. Use the current pack label if its direction is more restrictive.

Useful detailsHow to Apply Responsibly
  • Confirm the diagnosis: use Bhoomiputra only for a crop-and-disease combination in the verified table. Nutrient disorders, bacterial diseases and spray injury require different management.
  • Apply early: HPM advises use as a protectant when disease risk is high or at the first sign of disease. Follow the crop stage and spray-frequency directions on the current label.
  • Measure accurately: shake the SC container as directed, measure the label quantity and mix first with a small amount of clean water. Add the remaining water with agitation.
  • Cover the crop evenly: use calibrated foliar-spray equipment and the listed water volume. Avoid hot, rainy or windy conditions and prevent drift.
  • Keep products separate: this page makes no tank-mix or universal compatibility recommendation. Related and rotation products shown below are standalone alternatives under their own current labels.
Useful detailsResistance Management

Repeated use of Bhoomiputra or another Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazole product is not a rotation because those products carry the same FRAC Groups 11 + 3. FRAC reports cross-resistance within Group 11 and classifies QoI fungicides as high risk. Limit Group 11-containing sprays in the total programme. When another treatment is agronomically justified, select a separately registered product from a genuinely different FRAC group whose current Indian label matches the crop, disease and timing. Rotation means separate sequential applications, not mixing products in one tank.

Use with careSafety and Storage

Read the complete current label and leaflet before opening the container. Wear the personal protective equipment stated on the label; avoid skin, eye and mouth contact and avoid breathing spray mist. Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or spraying. Keep people and animals out of the treated area for the stated 24-hour re-entry period. Prevent spray, runoff, surplus liquid and equipment washings from reaching ponds, canals, wells or aquaculture. Wash exposed skin, contaminated clothing and equipment after use. Store the closed original container in a cool, dry, locked place away from children, food, feed, heat and open flame. No specific antidote is stated for the formulation-level label; obtain medical help after suspected exposure and show the label so that symptomatic treatment can be provided. Do not reuse the empty container.

Useful detailsImportant Disclaimer

Agricultural use directions and registrations can change. Always read and follow the current official Bhoomiputra pack label and local regulatory instructions. The pack label overrides this page. Use only on the labelled crop, disease, concentration, water volume, timing, PHI and safety conditions. Mana Agri Mart does not recommend off-label use.
