1. Bensulfuron Methyl — Group 2: susceptible weeds absorb the active ingredient and ALS inhibition blocks production of essential branched-chain amino acids, stopping growth.
2. Pretilachlor — Group 15: inhibition of very-long-chain fatty-acid synthesis disrupts cell division and growth in susceptible germinating weeds.
3. Early-field protection: application before weed emergence exposes susceptible weed seedlings to the registered ready mix during the crop-establishment window.

A product containing the same two active ingredients remains a Group 2 + 15 substitute, even if its concentration or formulation differs. It is not a different-mode resistance rotation.

Do not extend this use list to direct-seeded rice or another crop. Research uses outside the current registered label are not product-page recommendations.

No universal grams-per-litre dose applies. The official use table lists no spray-water dilution because Benpret is a sand-mixed broadcast granule.

PHI means pre-harvest interval. Do not apply after the fifth day following transplanting, and do not shorten the 88-day PHI.

• Confirm the field: use only in transplanted rice and only when the target weed spectrum matches the current label.
• Measure by hectare: use 10 kg of formulation per hectare; do not invent a water-tank or per-litre dilution.
• Mix for distribution: blend the measured granules with an adequate quantity of sand.
• Broadcast uniformly: distribute the mixture evenly by hand while wearing rubber gloves and the other PPE required by the pack.
• Respect the window: the registered label window is 0–5 days after transplanting and the HPM product page specifies 3–5 days; never apply after day 5.
• Check conditions: do not apply when weather conditions are unfavourable.
• No inferred mixtures: Benpret is already a registered ready mix. This page does not recommend combining it with another herbicide, pesticide, fertiliser or adjuvant. Recommendations shown elsewhere are standalone alternatives.

Avoid inhalation and skin contact. Wear rubber gloves and full protective clothing while handling and broadcasting. Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew during use. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after work. Keep the original closed pack in a cool, dry place away from heat, open flame, food and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children.

The official label states that this formulation is toxic to fish and must not be used around aquaculture, pisciculture or water bodies. Do not contaminate ponds, lakes or streams, and dispose of the empty container exactly as the label directs. Observe the 24-hour re-entry period. If exposure is suspected, follow the pack first-aid instructions and obtain medical help. No specific antidote is listed; treatment is symptomatic and supportive under medical supervision.
