HPM Benpret Herbicide for Early Weed Control in Transplanted Rice
HPM Benpret is a selective, pre-emergence ready-mix herbicide containing Bensulfuron Methyl 0.6% + Pretilachlor 6% GR. Its registered use is early control of specified grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds in transplanted rice.
Benpret combines two herbicide mode-of-action groups. Bensulfuron Methyl is an HRAC/WSSA Group 2 ALS inhibitor, while Pretilachlor is a Group 15 inhibitor of very-long-chain fatty-acid synthesis. The granular formulation is mixed with an adequate quantity of sand and broadcast uniformly; it is not a water-diluted spray.
Important use boundary: use Benpret only on transplanted rice and only for the weeds, rate, timing and safety conditions on the current pack label. The live Mana Agri Mart record offers a 4 kg pack, but the registered formulation rate is 10 kg/ha; do not change the field rate merely to fit a pack size.
