FMC Benevia Insecticide: Product Overview

FMC Benevia is a foliar insecticide containing Cyantraniliprole 10.26% w/w OD, equivalent to 100 g active ingredient per litre on a weight-by-volume basis.

The Indian label describes Benevia as a systemic-and-contact insecticide that acts through ingestion and contact against specified sucking and chewing pests. Its oil-dispersion formulation is designed for foliar spraying. Cyantraniliprole is an anthranilic diamide and belongs to IRAC Group 28, the ryanodine-receptor modulator group.

This Mana Agri Mart record preserves four live store packs: 90 ml, 180 ml, 240 ml and 300 ml. Pack size does not determine one universal acreage. The correct amount changes by crop and target pest, and the Indian label rates range from 600 to 900 ml/ha with different water volumes and waiting periods.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Benevia?
  • Verified FMC identity: the current FMC India product page and Indian label identify the active ingredient as Cyantraniliprole 10.26% OD.
  • Cross-spectrum label: the registered use table includes both sucking pests, such as thrips, aphids and whitefly, and chewing pests, such as fruit borers, tobacco caterpillar and diamondback moth.
  • Foliar OD formulation: Benevia is an oil dispersion intended for foliar application with thorough, uniform crop coverage.
  • Crop-specific directions: the label states exact formulation rates, water volumes and pre-harvest intervals instead of a misleading one-dose-for-all-crops claim.
  • Resistance-aware Group 28 use: the label limits successive and total Cyantraniliprole applications and requires movement to an effective different mode of action for the next pest generation.

Product scienceHow Benevia Works
  1. Exposure: label-listed pests encounter Cyantraniliprole through feeding on treated plant tissue or direct contact with the spray deposit.
  2. Group 28 action: Cyantraniliprole modulates insect ryanodine receptors, disrupting calcium regulation in muscle cells and impairing normal muscle function.
  3. Feeding disruption: FMC describes rapid feeding cessation and translaminar activity. Effective control still depends on early, label-compliant timing and complete coverage.
  4. Resistance stewardship: do not use Group 28 insecticides on consecutive pest generations. The label permits no more than two successive Cyantraniliprole applications per pest generation and no more than three Cyantraniliprole applications in a crop cycle.

PHI = pre-harvest interval. These are hectare-based directions from FMC India's Benevia label. Do not convert them into one universal ml/acre or ml/litre instruction: the rate, water volume and PHI change by crop and pest. The current physical pack is the final authority.

Useful detailsHow to Apply Benevia
  • Confirm the crop and pest: use Benevia only where the current pack label lists the exact crop, target pest, formulation rate, water volume and PHI.
  • Apply early: the Indian label directs early use in the infestation cycle before the pest population becomes established. It describes two successive foliar sprays at a 7-10 day interval for best performance, subject to the resistance limits on the current pack.
  • Prepare only what is needed: the label says to prepare the spray solution at the label rate and use it within four hours of preparation.
  • Cover the crop uniformly: use suitable high-volume equipment, such as a knapsack, Taiwan or foot sprayer, and the crop-specific water volume shown above.
  • Do not under-dose: the resistance-management directions specifically say not to use less than the recommended label rate.
  • Do not improvise tank mixes: no universal compatibility or tank-mix recommendation is made on this page. Related and Upsell products are standalone alternatives, not mixing partners.
Use with careSafety and Environmental Precautions
  • The Indian label warns that Benevia is toxic to aquatic organisms and honeybees. Avoid use near aquaculture and during active honeybee foraging periods, and prevent spray or washings from reaching water bodies.
  • Wear long protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, footwear, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection while measuring, mixing and spraying.
  • Avoid breathing spray mist and avoid contact with the mouth, eyes and skin. Do not eat, drink or smoke during application. Wash exposed skin and contaminated clothing after use.
  • Store only in the original closed container, away from food, feed, children, pets, heat and direct sunlight. Do not reuse empty containers.
  • If exposure occurs, follow the first-aid directions on the current label, obtain medical advice promptly and show the product pack. The label states that no specific antidote is known and treatment is symptomatic.
Use with careSafety Disclaimer

Always read and follow the current official FMC Benevia label and leaflet. The physical pack is the final authority for crop, pest, dose, water volume, timing, number of applications, equipment, resistance limits, pollinator precautions, re-entry and PHI. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the active ingredient in Benevia?

Benevia contains Cyantraniliprole 10.26% w/w OD, equivalent to 100 g active ingredient per litre on a weight-by-volume basis. It is an IRAC Group 28 anthranilic-diamide insecticide.

How much Benevia is needed per acre?

There is no single safe answer for every crop. The Indian label gives hectare rates of 600, 700, 750 or 900 ml depending on the crop and pest, with different water volumes. Use the exact current-label row and do not derive a universal tank dose.

Which pack should I buy?

The store offers 90 ml, 180 ml, 240 ml and 300 ml packs. First calculate the required quantity from the correct label row and the actual treated area, then choose the pack or combination that meets that quantity without changing the prescribed concentration.

Can Benevia be sprayed repeatedly?

The label limits Cyantraniliprole to no more than two successive applications per pest generation and no more than three applications in a crop cycle. Do not use Group 28 insecticides on consecutive pest generations; use a different effective, label-approved IRAC group when another treatment is required.

Can Benevia be tank-mixed with a fungicide or another insecticide?

No blanket tank-mix recommendation is made here. Compatibility, crop safety and legal use must be established from the current labels and qualified local advice. Recommendation cards below represent standalone choices only.
