1. Contact with weed foliage: correctly directed spray reaches exposed green weed tissue.
2. Enzyme inhibition: Glufosinate-ammonium blocks glutamine synthetase, disrupting normal nitrogen metabolism.
3. Cell injury: ammonia accumulates in susceptible cells, leading to necrotic symptoms and withering.

Basta is not presented here as a selective over-the-top crop spray, a universal weed treatment or a guaranteed root kill. Coverage, weed growth stage, weather and accurate placement affect results. This page makes no tank-mix recommendation; apply Basta solo under its current label.

Do not publish a universal ml-per-litre or per-acre conversion. The rate must remain tied to the treated area and the verified water volume. Use the current physical label if its directions differ.

• Identify both the crop and the listed target weeds before use. Measure the treated area and formulation accurately, and calibrate the sprayer for the specified water volume.
• Apply only as a directed spray to actively growing weeds. In tea, use a spray shield. For cotton, prevent drift or splash onto green crop tissue.
• Apply Basta solo. No tank-mix, fertilizer-mix, adjuvant or simultaneous-application recommendation is made on this page.
• Wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and tightly fitting eye protection. Avoid breathing mist or vapour, and do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product.
• Prevent product, spray liquid and contaminated wash water from reaching soil outside the target area, drains, surface water or groundwater.
• Store locked in the original tightly closed container, in a cool, well-ventilated place away from food, feed, heat, freezing and direct sunlight.

BASF's Basta SL150 safety data sheet carries the signal word “Danger” and states that the product can cause serious eye damage, is toxic in contact with skin, is harmful if swallowed and is harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. It also warns about reproductive and repeated-exposure nervous-system hazards.
