Crystal Bango Herbicide for Grassy Weeds in Soybean

Crystal Bango is a selective post-emergence herbicide containing Quizalofop-Ethyl 10% EC. Its verified Indian use is limited to soybean for the control of the specific grassy weeds listed on the label.

Bango is a systemic grass herbicide. The spray is taken up by susceptible grasses and acts at their growing tissues. Crystal recommends 150–180 ml per acre and states that the product is rainfast after four hours. The regulatory hectare recommendation is 375–450 ml in 300–500 L water.

Use-scope warning: do not extend this 10% EC product to cotton, groundnut, pulses, paddy, wheat or another crop merely because a different quizalofop formulation may have another registration. Bango is not registered here for broadleaf weeds or sedges. Use only on soybean and the listed grass weeds.

Why farmers choose itWhy Choose Bango?
  • Verified soybean registration: its crop, target weeds, dose, water volume and harvest interval are published in the Indian use table.
  • Targeted grass control: it is designed for the six registered grassy-weed groups, not for every weed in the field.
  • Systemic action: Quizalofop-Ethyl is an ACCase-inhibiting herbicide in HRAC Group 1.
  • Defined application window: the label directs spraying 15–20 days after soybean sowing.
  • Four-hour rainfast statement: this timing is published by Crystal; avoid rain during the initial four-hour period.

Product scienceHow It Works
  1. Uptake: actively growing susceptible grass leaves receive the post-emergence spray.
  2. Systemic movement: the active ingredient moves to growing tissues within susceptible grasses.
  3. ACCase inhibition: HRAC classifies Quizalofop-Ethyl in Group 1, which inhibits acetyl-CoA carboxylase and disrupts fatty-acid synthesis required for continued grass growth.

Repeated use of Group 1 herbicides can select resistant grass populations. A different Quizalofop brand remains the same mode of action and is a substitute, not a resistance-management rotation.

How to applyDosage and Application Guide

The official hectare recommendation governs use. The manufacturer’s acre range is shown for convenience; do not create a universal tank dose.

PHI means pre-harvest interval. The official table publishes a 69–103-day range. Follow the exact rate-linked directions on the current pack; do not assume that 69 days applies to every use situation.

How to applyApplication Best Practices
  • Scout first: confirm that the dominant weeds are registered grasses. Bango does not replace control measures for broadleaf weeds or sedges.
  • Prepare the emulsion: add the measured herbicide slowly to clean water and stir thoroughly until it is properly emulsified.
  • Use the specified equipment: apply with a knapsack sprayer fitted with a flat-fan nozzle for uniform weed-foliage coverage.
  • Protect nearby grass crops: prevent spray drift onto rice, maize, wheat, sorghum or other desirable grasses.
  • No inferred mixtures: this page does not recommend combining Bango with another herbicide, pesticide, fertiliser or adjuvant. Related and rotation products are separate alternatives.
Use with careSafety and Storage

The formulation label warns that Quizalofop-Ethyl 10% EC is moderately toxic to fish. Prevent drift, runoff, surplus spray and equipment washings from entering ponds, canals or aquaculture areas. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin or eyes. Do not handle with bare hands; wear rubber gloves, a face mask and full protective clothing as directed. Do not eat, drink, chew or smoke while handling the herbicide. Wash contaminated skin and clothing with soap and plenty of water. Store the closed original container under lock and key, away from children, food and animal feed. Do not reuse empty containers. No specific antidote is listed; treatment is symptomatic and must be directed by a medical professional. Seek medical advice promptly after suspected exposure and take the label with you.

Useful detailsImportant Disclaimer

Always read and follow the current official product label and local regulatory instructions. The pack label overrides this page. Use only on the labelled crop, weeds, dose, timing and safety conditions. Mana Agri Mart does not recommend off-label use.
