Axirex - Pinoxaden 5.1% EC - Parijat
Product details
Axirex Herbicide by Parijat
Pinoxaden 5.1% EC for post-emergence grass-weed control in wheat.
Wheat targets: Canary grass (Phalaris minor) and wild oat (Avena
ludoviciana).
When to start: Post-emergence at 30β35 days after wheat sowing or when the target
grasses are at the 3β5-leaf stage.
Application: Foliar spray with the paired product and water quantities below; leave
90 days before harvest.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
-
πΎΒ Β Selective wheat use: Targets the listed
emerged grass weeds in standing wheat.
-
π―Β Β Two important grass weeds: Covers canary
grass and wild oat within one wheat recommendation.
-
πΒ Β Movement to growing points: Pinoxaden
enters through weed leaves and moves to growing points in leaves and stems.
-
β±οΈΒ Β Growth stoppage before yellowing: Susceptible weeds stop growing before the full visible yellowing and control response.
-
π±Β Β Little soil activity: Rapid soil breakdown
supports succeeding-crop flexibility rather than creating a residual barrier against later weed flushes.

How It Works: Mode of Action
-
Uptake through the leaves: Pinoxaden is absorbed through weed foliage and moves to the growing points. Spray coverage must reach
the target grass leaves.
-
Growth processes interrupted: ACCase inhibition interferes with fatty-acid production needed by growing cells. Susceptible weeds
stop growing before later colour changes become visible.
-
Response develops over time: Susceptible grasses generally stop growing within 48 hours, yellow within 1β3 weeks and become
controlled within 3β5 weeks. These response ranges do not guarantee control of resistant weeds or compensate for poor coverage.
Repeated use of the same mode of action can select resistant weeds. Use integrated weed management and
crop-specific advice when resistance is suspected; another pinoxaden brand is still HRAC Group 1.

The hectare quantities are the native rates; acre quantities are calculated equivalents. Keep product and water
tied to the same area. The separate 40β45 g active-ingredient/ha figure is not the volume of formulated product to measure. PHI is the
minimum interval from the last application to harvest.
How to Apply: Best Practices
-
Identify the grasses: Check for canary grass or wild oat and assess their growth stage before treatment.
-
Use the post-emergence window: Apply at 30β35 days after wheat sowing or when the target grasses have 3β5 leaves. Follow the
supplied label and local advice if conditions do not match.
-
Calibrate for the area: Use the paired product and water quantities and leave the full 90-day harvest interval. Tank capacity alone
does not determine the treated area.
-
Use the specified nozzle: Use a knapsack sprayer with a flat-fan nozzle or deflector nozzle 08 White (DFN 08), keeping nozzle
height constant at 0.35 m.
-
Cover weed foliage: Use the recommended water quantity for thorough leaf coverage. Little soil activity does not replace the need
to contact emerged weeds.
-
Prepare and assess carefully: Use a stick for stirring and never cooking utensils. Assess new weed growth as well as yellowing
before considering another treatment under the label.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does Axirex control every weed in wheat?
No. Its wheat use covers canary grass and wild oat. Broad-leaved weeds and sedges need separate
identification and a suitable crop programme.
2. What are the dose and water requirements?
Use 800β900 ml of product with 225β300 L water per hectare. The calculated acre equivalents are
approximately 323.75β364.22 ml and 91.05β121.41 L. Do not combine range endpoints into an invented universal tank concentration.
3. When should I apply it?
Apply after weeds emerge, at 30β35 days after wheat sowing or when canary grass and wild oat reach 3β5
leaves. Keep the application within the supplied crop directions and allow 90 days before harvest.
4. Why are treated weeds still green initially?
Growth interruption comes before full yellowing. Susceptible weeds generally stop growing within 48 hours,
yellow over 1β3 weeks and reach control over 3β5 weeks. Resistance, coverage and field conditions can affect the result.
5. Will it control later weeds or restrict the following crop?
It breaks down quickly in soil and has little or no soil activity, so do not expect a residual barrier
against later weeds. The Axirex leaflet places no restrictions on succeeding crops; still observe restrictions from other products
used in the field.
