Avancer Glow Fungicide by UPL

Azoxystrobin 8.3% + Mancozeb 66.7% w/w WG. A systemic and contact fungicide with fully specified chilli and grape spray directions and additional manufacturer-listed crop targets.

What it controls: The listed diseases in chilli and grapes; additional manufacturer-listed crop targets are identified below.

When to use it: As a foliar spray for these diseases, with applications guided by disease appearance and severity.

What to include: Use the crop-specific water volume and harvest interval; apply with the specified high-volume spray equipment.

Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits

  • 🧬Two fungicide actions: Azoxystrobin and mancozeb combine a respiration-inhibiting component with multisite activity.
  • 🌶️Chilli disease coverage: The chilli recommendation includes powdery mildew, leaf spot and anthracnose.
  • 🍇Grape disease coverage: The grape recommendation includes powdery mildew, downy mildew and anthracnose.
  • 🍃Systemic and contact activity: The manufacturer identifies the formulation as a systemic and contact fungicide.
  • 💧Canopy-based grape spraying: The grape water-volume range allows the label recommendation to be matched to canopy size without changing the product dose.

Technical Specifications

Parameter Details
Brand Name Avancer Glow by UPL
Technical Name Azoxystrobin 8.3% + Mancozeb 66.7% w/w WG
FRAC MoA Code Groups 11 + M03
Chemical Group Methoxy-acrylate (QoI) + dithiocarbamate
Formulation WG: water-dispersible granules
Toxicity Label Follow the warning panel on the supplied pack; protective equipment is required.

How It Works: Mode of Action

Avancer Glow contains azoxystrobin in FRAC Group 11 and mancozeb in FRAC Group M03.

  1. Respiration is inhibited: Azoxystrobin acts at the Qo site of mitochondrial complex III, interrupting fungal energy production.
  2. Multiple processes are affected: Mancozeb is a multisite dithiocarbamate fungicide, affecting several cellular processes rather than one specific target.
  3. Disease development is restricted: The two mechanisms provide activity against susceptible disease organisms within the labelled chilli and grape uses.

Follow the supplied label and a suitable resistance-management programme. Repeatedly changing trade names while retaining the same fungicide groups is not a mode-of-action rotation.

Target Crops & Pests

Chilli and grape conventional-spray directions are complete in the reviewed leaflet. Other crop targets below are from UPL’s Indian website and need complete supplied-pack directions before use.

Crop Target Pest(s)
Chilli
  • Powdery mildew
  • Leaf spot
  • Anthracnose

UPL’s website also lists these three chilli diseases for drone application. Drone-specific dose basis, water and PHI are not established here; do not transfer the conventional-spray row.

Grapes
  • Powdery mildew
  • Downy mildew
  • Anthracnose
Onion
  • Downy Mildew
  • Purple Blotch
  • Stemphylium Blight
Paddy
  • Blast
  • Brown spot
  • Sheath blight
  • Dirty Panicle
Pomegranate
  • Alternaria Leaf spot
  • Anthracnose
  • Cercospora Leaf spot
Potato
  • Early blight
  • Late blight
Soybean
  • Alternaria Leaf spot
  • Cercospora Leaf spot
  • Myrothecium Leaf Spot
Tomato
  • Early blight
  • Late blight

Pomegranate, soybean, onion, tomato, potato and paddy are manufacturer-website scope, not complete application recommendations in this guide. Confirm their crop-specific dose, water, route and PHI before use.

Dosage & Application Guide

Each row is a separate foliar-spray recommendation. Keep its product dose, water volume and harvest interval together.

Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)

Crop Dose (g / Acre) Water (L / Acre) Dose (g / Litre) PHI (Days)
Chilli Approx. 607.0
1500 g/ha
Approx. 202.3
500 L/ha
See note* 7
Grapes Approx. 607.0
1500 g/ha
Approx. 202.3–303.5
500–750 L/ha
See note* 21

Acre figures are approximate conversions of the hectare directions shown beneath them. Measure the treated area accurately.

*The leaflet gives area-based product and water quantities, not a separate per-litre rate. No per-litre or tank dose has been calculated. PHI is the minimum time between the last spray and harvest.

For grapes, choose water volume within the stated range according to the crop canopy. This does not change the 1500 g/ha product dose.

The website lists 600 g for additional crops and chilli drone use without a clear area denominator. This is not treated as 600 g/acre. Additional crop and drone recommendations are held until dose basis, water and PHI are confirmed.

How to Apply: Best Practices

  • Application route: Apply as a foliar spray using a high-volume knapsack sprayer fitted with a hollow-cone nozzle.
  • Measured quantities: Measure the treated crop area and use its paired product and water quantities. For grapes, select water volume according to the canopy within the label range.
  • Disease timing: Repeat applications according to disease appearance or severity, as directed by the supplied label. No fixed repeat interval is given here.
  • Harvest interval: Allow at least 7 days after the last chilli spray and 21 days after the last grape spray before harvest.
  • Use restriction: Do not use for post-harvest treatment. Use additional website-listed crops or drone application only after their complete directions are confirmed on the supplied pack.
  • After use: Clean spraying equipment as directed and prevent product or rinsate entering water bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which directions are complete in this guide?Conventional foliar spraying in chilli and grapes. UPL also lists six other crops and chilli drone use, shown in the crop scope, but their complete operating directions need confirmation before application.

Is the product dose the same for both crops?Yes. The listed dose is 1500 g/ha, approximately 607.0 g/acre. Water is 500 L/ha for chilli and 500–750 L/ha for grapes according to canopy size.

What are the harvest waiting periods?Wait at least 7 days for chilli and 21 days for grapes after the last spray.

Can it be used after harvest? No. The manufacturer leaflet specifically excludes post-harvest application.

Can I use one per-litre rate or add other chemicals?Use the separate crop row with the measured area and full water requirement. This guide does not derive a per-litre rate or recommend unverified tank mixtures.
